Brandon Roy contacted union official two weeks ago to ask retirement-related questions. He'll likely announce his decision in next few days.
Could this all just be a leverage play from Brandon to get amnestied so he can leave?
Damn, Beer! This doesn't even seem real! The fact that Martell Webster tweeted about it makes me think this is legit. I'm thinking Martell would call Roy to confirm its true before tweeting about it. They are very good friends.
This opens up more PT for Elliot Williams.
His knees are already "too fucked up to ever play again." That's not the news. The news is, he's going to retire (supposedly), which if true is good for him and his family, and as it turns out, good for the Blazers.yeah anyone trying to spin this as good news is a heartless fuck
its good news for brandon that his knees are too fucked to ever play again? wha?
yes it is better to have his money off the books if he cant play, thats it
That's one theory. Who knows? If this "Medical Retirement" rumor is true, there has to be more to it than we know. This just doesn't compute with what was reported just a few days ago. Maybe Roy sees the writing on the wall here (reduced roll) and wants out. I have no clue. Why now? What happened in the last few days to facilitate this? Maybe Nik is right and he simply wants out. It's hard to believe that HE believes he's done after what he said just a few days ago.
I'm reading a bit into the Woj post...maybe Bran hurt himself pretty badly in the last day or so, and now the condition is much worse than before?
Hmmmm ... I kind of doubt that. Supposedly he was asking the league office "medical retirement" questions two weeks ago.
Each one like pouring lemon juice on a paper cut. (Insert more gruesome analogy if you wish.)In okc today by the way. So many damn Durant signs
Well then why the hell did he do all this posturing to convince the team (and ultimately the fans) that he felt great?
In okc today by the way. So many damn Durant signs
And to think that part of the reason we didn't draft KD was because we already had Roy . . .

The Raymond Felton era is upon us.

Nah, it's LMA's team now ... no ifs ands or buts ... and that's OK
Yeah, but he needs his Robin.
We currently don't have that.
And the same reason we drafted Bowie over Jordan ... maybe there's a lesson to be learned here?
