Roy to retire today????

On that decision, I am torn. IMO, Peyton is the reason Indianapolis still has football. I do not think the city would have been as cooperative with the building of Lucas Oil Stadium if not for what he has done for the team. It is going to be a bad decision if we trade Luck, but as a fan ever since the team moved to Indy I cannot fathom watching Manning play for another team.

You have to take Luck. Indy can hold on to both QB's for the first few months and make sure Peyton is healthy and see if they have any sort of chance at superbowls with him in the next few seasons. Luck is not going to lose any trade value during the first few months of his career.

Joe Montana was traded, so there is precedence. While painful at first, if you have a top10 QB like the Steve Young you can't pass that up if the goal of your franchise is competing for super bowls.

First sensible post so far in this thread about ROY's retirement from BASKETBALL.

My favorite Brandon Roy moment was a regular season game against Houston a couple years back when Houston scored to take the lead with only about one second left. The game seemed to be lost. Brandon got the inbound deep in three point territory and somehow got the shot off to win the game. The Rose Garden just erupted.

What a quality guy, quality player. With all the idiots who make so many bad decisions off the court, who play selfishly, sloppily and lazily on the court, it's absolutely wrong that this should happen to Roy.

FWIW, Canzano isn't making fun of Roy, he's messing with the front-office.

Ok, given that I can not abide the asshat, I will try to be kind and ask, to what purpose does he "mess with the front office", perhaps only to stir the pot for rateings ? Say it aint so, Joe...

FKn guy has no class..there are so many stories that a true writer could put to pen, but this pantywaste pos trickels down to the lowest point, and then takes a dive.

Very hamhandedly.

It is still low and classless.

Like making snarky jokes about the management of the funeral home - during your best friend's funeral.

Nobody wants to hear your bullshit whining right now. Emote grief, sorrow or celebrate what was great about the departed. Or shut the hell up.

This is great news for the franchise. You should all be elated. Roy was toast.

It was inevitable. What was sad was him taking 5 games off, having a good game, then 3-4 bad games. Then a great game, then rinse and repeat. Love Roy, I'll rock his jersey when I go to the first game this year, but this is the best possible outcome given the circumstances.

Why would you bother following Canzano?

And no, I doubt he's been hacked. He's just pissed he didn't get to break the story.

Canzano doesn't break stories. He's not a reporter, he's not an investigative journalist, he's a gossip columnist. He's Rona Fucking Barrett with a shaved head and an axe to grind. He's a professional shit stirrer that gets paid to piss people off. Anyone who follows him on Twitter, or anywhere else gets what they deserve.

A very sad day for Blazers fans and a sad one for Roy and his family.

Great analogy. I agree Canzano has sunk to a new low.

Yeah, but he has 50 million reasons and the best his knees will every be again, to get over it. Besides, the cat is loved in pdx. I have to think he ends up here in some fashion.

Why live in Portland when you can live in Seattle?

Well...

If Roy's contract doesn't count against the cap next year, the Blazers will only be committed to $37M($26M if Gerald opts out).

Wow. I don't know what to think or feel about this. Too much weird timing and too many unanswered questions.

Damn Boob, showing your age with that post, lol. I don't think I've heard Rona Barrett's name in 20 years.

Not sure if.it.has.been asked, but does amnestying him now.make more sense because his.contract stays on our books regardless until april 28 now. This way it.would.be gone.now

I'm wondering now why didn't the Blazers have Roy check in with his doctor first and then arrange for a meeting with him; seems like it could have avoided this roller coaster of emotions.
