On that decision, I am torn. IMO, Peyton is the reason Indianapolis still has football. I do not think the city would have been as cooperative with the building of Lucas Oil Stadium if not for what he has done for the team. It is going to be a bad decision if we trade Luck, but as a fan ever since the team moved to Indy I cannot fathom watching Manning play for another team.
You have to take Luck. Indy can hold on to both QB's for the first few months and make sure Peyton is healthy and see if they have any sort of chance at superbowls with him in the next few seasons. Luck is not going to lose any trade value during the first few months of his career.
Joe Montana was traded, so there is precedence. While painful at first, if you have a top10 QB like the Steve Young you can't pass that up if the goal of your franchise is competing for super bowls.
