I call complete and utter bullshit:

Crazy Trade Rumors

The fact that we’re hearing these rumors makes them somewhat newsworthy, but considering the timing and nature of draft day, we’re extremely skeptical about the veracity of these reports, so take them with a grain of salt.

-Houston sends Shane Battier and Aaron Brooks to Sacramento for Beno Udrih at the #4 pick. A third team might have to get involved to make the salaries work. Most people around the league believe that Houston is very happy with their team at the moment, and that McGrady is really the only player they are looking to move.

-Plenty of Rondo talk throughout the top 10.

-A complicated three-way trade involving New Jersey, Minnesota and Memphis, which would send Devin Harris to Minnesota, the #5 and #6 picks to Memphis and Ricky Rubio and Craig Smith to New Jersey.

-New Jersey is also heavily shopping Vince Carter around in exchange for expiring contracts. It looks like they could be starting over from scratch, especially if both of these rumored trades go through.

-Portland dangling Greg Oden to try and get into the top 5? A number have teams say they are hearing that, although it could all be coming from the same source. A Trailblazers executive we spoke with emphatically denied that they would even consider trading Oden.

That 3 way with Minny, NJ and Memphis would be fun.

memphis gets WAY too much value for the #2, Minny needs to rebuild through the draft, not with a 27 yr old Devin Harris, if NJ is rebuilding, then I'd go after a more proven young player than anyone in this years draft

Portland would have to get a shitload more then a top 5 pick in the worst draft in 10 years for this to even be possible.

I am all for KP taking a risk, but this would be insanity.

I'd rather trade Oden for a resigned Bosh/Amare than ANYONE in this years draft

This is too wack to even be a smokescreen. No way would the Blazers trade Oden for a top 5 pick in this weak ass draft. Well, unless it was something like Oden to OKC for the 3rd pick AND Kevin Durant.

There aren't many things that would seriously make me consider stopping being a Blazer fan, but that might be one.

Is the source Bill Simmons?

I kind of think Devin Harris is better then anyone outside of Blake Griffin in this draft. Certainly better then any two players available at 5 and 6 put together. Minni makes out like a bandit in this trade.

It wouldn't be a surprising move from the NBA's unofficial farm team, though. Memphis will be the first team in the modern history of the league to have a total payroll under 20 million. They will draw 5K fans to each game, but still make a ton of money due to the profit sharing rules in the NBA.

How about Gay and Rubio for Oden? Rubio and Green?

I don't believe any of it, AND I DON'T LIKE THE IDEA, but you could probably come up with some combination of talent + #2 or #3 pick that could make some sense.

No, you couldn't.

Trading Oden now would make me very angry.

Ed O.

Hilarious!

Roy, Oden, LA, Joel, and Rudy arent going anywhere.

I think you can add Batum to this list - and if there is anyone that might be moved here - it is Joel - and even this is very unlikely.

Oden's PER was 18 something Gay is a Travis Outlaw clone....almost literally. Rubio hasn't done shit. There is no one in this draft, including Blake Griffin that I would trade Greg Oden for.

100% right. You just know that Oden is coming into next year like gangbusters.

I would not be surprised, however, if this rumor did originate from Portland - just to fuck with the minds of the other teams and distract them from the real stuff.

I wish the draft would get here. My brain won't stop spewing out stupid trade ideas. Like, I keep trying to think how we could get a young PF to send to Memphis for their #2. I keep coming back to Stoudemire, who I bet we might be able to get for some combination of our non-big-three talent, especially as they might value Bayless and/or Sergio more than most. But then I think, Memphis would be stupid to take a risk on Stoudemire bolting at the end of the year. So then I think, but what about if Miami gets Stoudemire and Memphis gets Beasley...

You see what I mean?

Probably true, but not 100% certain. There is a chance that Oden could end up never really improving over his career. A small chance, but a real one.

My only point with the consideration is that if you could trade Oden for a killer 1 and 3, it might make sense. I don't see that happening with one of the top five picks in this draft (you can't get Rubio + Durrant).

But by adding Harris, they just sink back into mediocrity..a core of love, harris, and jefferson just isnt good enough and with Harris being 27, his prime comes at the same time as LA,Bos,Cle,Sa, and Orl all being elite. They should build through the draft or trade for a younger star that can grow with Love and Jefferson

I think that one of the reasons we'd WANT Rubio is b/c his whole mission in life is to get the ball to big people to dunk. He and Oden and Rudy would be BFFs.

If anything, I'd be onboard with an LMA for Green and Rubio (#3), and send Sergio and Travis for Lee S&T. I think that'd make both teams really good.

I'd package Oden for Griffin.

Easily.

And the Clippers are an organization dumb enough to do that move.
