Sacramento/Seattle Kings Update (2 Viewers)

Wait a couple of years until the seaosn ticktes expire. If the team still sucks then the attendance will drop. Right now they are young and exciting. (Like Portland) But that only lasts for so long.

With all the shit that has happened to the Kings fans the last two years why would they support those two fucking brothers? They will come back to support new ownership. They were great fans before.

Plus, they will be big in India.

Wrong, look at your post in 287

It was "chapters" all along. You need some rest dude, lol.

Uh-huh, so explain to me how "chapters" got into your post 287? Let's be honest you've got jack. The 275 edit means I added content, your 287 post just proves the word was always there.

Real desperate to hang onto this "dare", it isn't a big deal I just think it is funny you got caught.

The quote box links back to the post, even after it's edited. When you edited your post to improve your dare, the quote box simply quoted your edited dare. That's how it works. I caught your fraud red-handed.

What does Stern have against the Pac NW?

He's protecting KJ and his bid for governor in a few years. If the Kinds leave Sacto, KJ is toast in that state politically considering who much effort he's put into keeping the Kings there. I happen to like what KJ did as mayor to keep his team; I doubt that Portland leadership would put together such a group should Paul Allen entertain offers from the Hansen group to move the team.

I'd love to know what will happen to that $30M deposit.

If it's the NBA's rule, I'd sue the hell out of them to get that money back. The NBA just spit in the Hansen group's collective face.

difference is, Sacramento wasn't on a long term contract which was costly to get out of, didn't have an arena that the owner had owned and could pay cash for if he so chose to, and pretty much would cost more to move the team than it would to keep the team in Portland.

So therefore, the city leaders (as inept as they were, are and sadly, will be) knew they didn't have to bend over for Paul Allen.

Trust me, it's gonna be the Seattle Bucks!

Yeah, I agree with that, but I have to say I've been really impressed by Kevin Johnson and his ability to save the Kings for Sacto. Without the Kings, Sacto is Fresno in terms of a city, with the only benefit being that it's between the Bay Area and Tahoe.

When California has Gov. KJ, he'll put NBA teams into Stockton, Bakersfield, Palm Springs, Highway 101, the Motel 6 a hundred miles north of L.A. with some name I never remember, in a treehouse in the Redwoods...

With that easy springboard to the Presidency, his VP should be Jesse Ventura.

Me too. Although I think it's foolhardy to keep them there, and sets Seattle getting a team back 3-5 years (if at all now), it was pretty ballsy of KJ to do what he did.

Dang, so much for being the State Capitol.

Some people on this board like turtles.

Below is the message by Chris Hansen...sounds like he's not giving up. Gotta give it to the guy, he's a fighter....

To the Sonics Faithful

While we are disappointed with the relocation committee’s recommendation, we just wanted to let you all know that we remain fully committed to seeing this transaction through. As you are all well aware, we have a binding transaction to purchase the Kings for what would be a record price for an NBA franchise, have one of the best ownership groups ever assembled to purchase a professional sports team in the US, have clearly demonstrated that we have a much more solid Arena plan, have offered a much higher price than the yet to be finalized Sacramento Group, and have placed all of the funds to close the transaction into escrow. As such, we plan to unequivocally state our case for both relocation and our plan to move forward with the transaction to the league and owners at the upcoming Board of Governor’s Meeting in Mid-May.

When we started this process everyone thought it was impossible. While this represents yet another obstacle to achieving our goal, I just wanted to reassure all of you that we have numerous options at our disposal and have absolutely no plans to give up. Impossible is nothing but a state of mind.

“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ―Muhammad Ali

Sounds like he is considering litigation. That would be pretty epic. The NBA said play nice with Bennett and you will get a team. Well, they didn't. I think litigation would be pretty entertaining. The NBA has a lot more to lose than Hansen. Say bye to the salary cap if Hansen wins.
