Yeah that was a pretty huge game for Scoot. You cant accidentally have a great playoff game, or say the opponent had some excuse, etc.

I'm starting to believe he's just clearly a much better piece for our team long term than Sharpe.
Sharpe also needs time. He’s still very young and has flashes of unreal talent. Players don’t really solidify until 24/25. Yes some are immediately great but others become great in their mid-20’s way too early to give up on Sharpe. He’s been injured and was scoring 22-23 on fairly efficient shooting for two months straight. Give him time.

Grant on the other hand we e get rid of this offseason we know who he is.

Playing next to Deni, he needed to change his role.
Scoot is filling a role the team needs badly, which is efficient scoring including from outside, and good defense.

He has shot 21/34 overall in the 3 post-season games (61.8%) and 8/16 (50%) on 3-pointers.

Scoot has been a very efficient scorer during stretches of his career. If he can figure out how to maintain that, Scoot fits perfectly with what Deni is doing for the team, which is attacking the paint and sharing the ball. He (Scoot) can focus on scoring first, which could unleash his potential more than having to run the offense and look for his teammates first.

I wouldn't get rid of Sharpe, I'm not trading him unless we get value back. But I'm also not pencilling him in as a starter. He might just be more of a career backup. Even when healthy he has defense and shot selection problems. That doesn't matter as much when the Blazers are a lottery team developing young guys - but flips to important when the team is trying to win playoff games. Maybe those parts of Sharpe game improve, or maybe they don't.

Grant I'd be happy to dump but don't see why any other team would want him. He's our highest paid player. After next year he will be an expiring contract so maybe that will be the time.

Grants contract was just plain awful the day we handed it out. Could have really helped to have a cheapskate owner like Dundon question if it was a deal we should offer.

I confess, ive been a Scoot hater for quite some time. Watching Scoot in game 2 find his rhythm and jawing with the Spurs guards was a thing of beauty. His confidence shows he has that "it" factor, that killer instinct which few players have. I almost forgot that was one of the characteristics that made him such a coveted player when we drafted him. I hope he continues to prove me wrong. For now, im enjoying this Scoot Henderson guy and am hoping the best for him.

I've always thought it would be Scoot or Shaedon as the main prospect in a Giannis deal. Even before the playoffs I said Shaedon was the one I'd sacrifice more so since Scoot was becoming a deadly shooter, a better compliment to Giannis. I like Shae a lot but you move him with Grant and the picks if you can get Giannis.

Excepting Robert Williams III, in the first two games of the playoffs, Scoot is #1 in FG%, #1 in True Shooting%, #1 in 3-point %, and #2 in free-throw attempts and makes per game.
Most of the rest of the team is shooting/scoring so poorly that Scoot should probably be getting more shots.

Jrue Holiday actually has more shot attempts per game than Scoot and less than half the effectiveness.

I just want to put this out there. All of you that are willing to eat crow about doubting Scoot but are shifting that doubt to Shaedon are making a mistake.

These two guys are so close that Scoot was sitting the second half of the play in game and Shaedon was getting those minutes and playing well... not taking over the game like Scoot did this last game but still playing at a really high level.

If we trade either one of these two guys for anything less than the return you would get for an all star (which I don't think we could get right now) we'll end up in the same regrettable situation the Wizards are in when it comes to Deni.

Giannis would ruin the team. I just don't think he works here, nor is he necessary. I think Portland has become the team that superstars might be tempted to come to (especially to get away from a trash team falling apart) in order to play with a bunch of long and strong wings and great defenders, but we don't need someone like Giannis.

How would it even work? You going to play Deni and Giannis as forwards, then where does Toumani go? You can't keep Deni at guard when you have Scoot, Dame, Jrue.....and we probably shouldn't trade Jrue away. Dame wants to play with him. Jrue is great for the team. Unless Scoot can become a true Jrue/Dame hybrid and make aging Jrue redundant....
