Politics SEAL, American Girl Die in First Trump-Era U.S. Military Raid

Whoever is comparing this to Benghazi, is fucking pathetic.

Shit happens in war and military operations. That said, I wonder what kind of reactions I'd be reading here if the names of the people that signed off on the raid, were filed off of if this had been Obama's call? Probably 90% of you would be flipped in your positions.

Nate claims to have been a marine (which explains a lot). If indeed he was, I suspect he was a REMF who watched from the cheap seats......

Denny made mention of personal insults yesterday so WE all need to stop it.

This is extremely insensitive towards little people. Are you saying they're not adults?

HvJVj.gif
are you saying they don't have large or normal necks?

No free pass. The president ordered the go ahead.

To claim it wasn't vetted or reviewed by at least 2 generals plus all the people that planned it is just silly.

Unlike Benghazi, when those on the ground called for help, they got it.

Worse than Benghazi?
Unlike Benghazi, this wasn't a surprise attack by the enemy, this was an attack by us. Our choice. If Benghazi is like a tiny 9/11 then this is like a mini Custer's Last Stand.

Oh, and re: Benghazi:
The former Secretary of State learned about the attacks of September 11, 2012, when a state department official rushed into her office at approximately 4:00 PM that day. She summoned the top officials in the State Department immediately, but even from the beginning, there would be nothing that could be done to assist those agents and officials at the facility, once Libyan security outside of the perimeter wall had withdrawn.

This would also be the finding of the House Armed Services Committee. Howard McKeon (the GOP chairman) said, "I think I've pretty well been satisfied that given where the troops were, how quickly the thing all happened and how quickly it dissipated, we probably couldn't have done more than we did".

This is clearly nonsense. We all know of the existence of the Iron Man project: it is the secretary of state's duty to don said armor and fly it into battle on such occasions as this.

Do you believe the stupid shit you post?

This is one of those tough calls that Presidents have to make, and until there is a history of botched operations, I don't think we can pin this on Trump. I don't like Trump at all, I think he's a plague on this nation, but we need to stop being so reactionary and outcome dependent. Also, this is the type of operation that we simply won't know all the details for months, if ever. It's sad and disheartening when we lose our heroes, it cheapens the situation to lay blame without real reason and thought.

so how many little girls did these heroes shoot in the face? just a couple? that aint too bad.

when the president leads every issue with this tactic....he can expect it to bounce back to him ....I honor all soldiers lost in battle....doesn't mean I don't question why they lost their lives....I'm a war vet who questioned the President everyday I served....nothing cheap about freedom of speech...many have died to protect just that

I agree you should question, and I believe there may be well deserved blame to lay at Trumps feet in the future, but right now, blaming him for this specific action is premature. There are bad decisions, and then there are good decisions with bad outcomes, and then there are decisions that are time-dependent but not enough information is available to know if it's the right move.

Trump has shown me he doesn't think before he acts on several occasions.....this is one I question...he pressured his military advisors to destroy terrorism in 30 days.......to me this was them rushing to appease his bluster and from all I've read....not well done...just so happens to be his first military directive...and this from a guy who said John McCain was not a hero because he got shot down and was imprisoned for 5.5 years....double standard eh?

The ship I was serving on was on maneuvers off the coast of Cali when Nixon resigned. The captain broadcast his resignation speech over the ship's PA. When it was over, you could....without exaggeration....hear the entire ship (700 crew members) cheering loudly throughout the ship. I was never so proud to serve as I was that day. Those who serve won't support buffoons who blindly put their lives in harm's way for political capital.....

Now the Dems have a stick to jam in the spokes of Trump's bicycle. They can't stop the other crap he's doing or block the clowns he's filling his cabinet with, so I expect they'll take a page straight out of the Republican playbook and use this Seal fiasco the same way the GOP (what a ironic nickname) used Benghazi to further gum up the works of this dysfunctional society we call America. Terrific......

Oh man, you really "served" your country lol. Must've seen some real intense combat off the coast of California :biglaugh:

You tried calling me a REMF and not only were you a pog, you were in the fucking navy.

You probably joined the navy just so you didn't get drafted into the Marines or army.

Please come to the Boston game, I'd love to hear some war stories from a real battle hardened vet like you. I just watched the war happen from my cheap seats in the Marine Corps Infantry.

On second thought, you dont even rate to talk to me, boot.

He claims to.
He and I served on the same ship....both Viet Nam vets..we've met...sorry but that boat carried marines on many missions and I've trained marines to use radio equipment during war and sent msgs that gave you grunts ground cover ....we are the same branch of the military and if you're a combat action vet...I thank you...Unclecliffy'sdaddy and I are both Viet Nam vets.

Latest State release: Clinton emails with Chelsea after Benghazi attacks and more

Clinton and her daughter Chelsea Clinton exchanged emails after 8 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2012, with Chelsea Clinton using the alias “Diane Reynolds.” Clinton invited her daughter to call, saying she is in the office late because of attacks on U.S. facilities in Egypt and Libya.

“Two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an Al Queda-like group: The Ambassador, whom I handpicked and a young communications officer on temporary duty w a wife and two young children. Very hard day and I fear more of the same tomorrow. Let's try again later.”

The next day, she was lying in public, that it was an uprising about a youtube video. What's worse, the administration went after the man who made this video and put him in jail. Nixonian at best, a horrible action by government at best.

State Department under Hillary Clinton refused security requests for Benghazi, Paul Ryan says

The State Department has acknowledged it rejected requests to provide more security personnel in Libya. It also acknowledged rejecting a request to erect guard towers at the Benghazi mission, but notes that a number of physical security upgrades, such as the installation of concrete barriers to block unused gates, were made during 2012.

The State Department’s own Accountability Review Board concluded that the number of diplomatic security staff in Benghazi in the months leading up to the attacks was inadequate "despite repeated requests" from the Benghazi mission and the embassy in Tripoli for additional staffing.
Do tell me more about your fantasies about what really happened at Benghazi
