But circling back to your NK comments...
Was that really all the NK wanted with Bran? To kill him? If so, that makes not just the whole battle, but the entire existence of the NK completely stupid. If that's all he wanted he had ample opportunities to do so. Given all the pomp and circumstance surrounding NK and Bran there had better be more to the story than just "he wanted to kill him". And by "more to the story", I don't mean the Children of the Forest NK origin story.
Well, I was thinking and hoping that there was more to it--that there was some deeper connection between Bran and the Night King. I actually thought there would be some dramatic development between them when the Night King confronted Bran. But if there is anything particular connecting them, it appears it's not going to be explored/explained, which is frustrating. Arya killing him (or Jon killing him) seemed boring. I was hoping for something more interesting, some deep truth that we'd discover that might reframe the whole situation.
