Well it seems like Dame was not happy about missing two, late, FT's and took it out on the poor 76'ers. My goodness, what a statement! Too bad CJ couldn't join the party as well to make up for his two complete defensive lapses. Instead, he shoots poorly and gives up a ton to his SG counterpart.

No matter....much needed win and with another Grizzlies loss, they are right back to within 1/2 a game. Except for that meltdown against the Clipper scrubs, they would be #8 right now.

And? Barely beating teams playing their third-stringers means what to you exactly? Championship? WCF run again? Please, in your infinite wisdom, please share what their 4-2 record indicates to you, since you know so much about basketball. Go on record and predict where this team ends the season. Miss playoffs? First round loss? Second round? WCF? Finals? I’ll wait.

But, in the interim, keep standing on your soapbox and pretending like you know everything. What you have shown time and again is your blind adulation for one of the worst coaches in pro-sports in Terry Stotts ... it borders on hysterical at times.
Just because Stotts isn't the #1 coach in pro-sports, it doesn't make him one of the worst. How many pro-sports coaches have won THREE, count them THREE playoff series without home court advantage? How many pro-sports coaches have won a Game 7 on the road? How many pro-sports coaches have reached the Conference Finals despite both starting center and back up center being hurt and only 1 All Star on the roster? How many pro-sports coaches have gotten his team to the playoffs 6 straight times? Stotts is not #1 coach. But he definitely isn't one of the worst. Not even close.

CJ hit one of the most important shots in the game. After Melo's three cut the deficit in half, CJ created a midrange shot for himself and knocked it down to cut the deficit to 1.

Sorry dude if you predicted we wouldn't win anymore games, then the egg is on your face and no one else's.

Its not that tough when star players aren’t playing
The difference between a starter and a rotational player is very little in this league. Something about the venue is showing that to be a huge factor. Players that usually light it up in practice but wilt in real games are showing their skill levels. Those second string "Non Star Players" are coming up big. It isn't just against the Blazers either. Watch some games.

The English language needs a new, nonsexist word for “bitch”. Asshole doesn’t have quite the same whiny connotation, but I guess it will have to do.

I have a 4 month old that is offended by this please refrain from coupling all babies together.

Hey, you are the one who predicted no more wins. Now you are making excuses. Own your mistake.

I think this is one of the most interesting aspects of the whole bubble thing. I don't think players really do get better in the clutch, but there are definitely those who get worse. They are usually not the stars.

It seems to be much less of an issue when there are no fans around, making superstar talent a little less important than deep talent.

Wow, must of struck a nerve. What's hysterical is you claiming Stotts as one of the worst coaches in pro sports. As for what the 4-2 record means?. It means it puts in a very good position to make the playoffs which is what the goal was coming into Orlando. I also tend not to make predictions as they are really meaningless. Remember, one game at a time.

That is good for one or two isolated instances. But bigger picture, he gagged defensively twice in a row late in the Clipper game. Then got torched by his SG counterpart Richardson for much of the night for 34 points on high percentage shooting while shooting 41% for 16 points on his own offensive end.

Looks like he was more interested in his wine...

So you’ll mock others for their “predictions” but you won't make your own? Got it.

Crazy thought: Whiteside is not gonna play a game for the Blazers anymore to not hurt is free agency. Think about it..
A couple of us on here advocated getting something for Whiteside at the trade deadline because we never bought into the idea that he and Nurk could play together. I think now everyone understands.

if CJ hadn't been a giant defensive sieve prior to that shot, the Blazers would have been up by 15. CJ was burned over and over and over on defense

Got to admit @hoopsjock @BonesJones @Strenuus @Chris Craig and you all wanted to move Whiteside at the deadline. Pretty obvious you were all right on that one.

Not moving Whiteside was fine. No one knew at the time when or if Nurk would even come back that season, and you wanted to keep Whiteside because you still want to give Dame a shot at making the playoffs. Considering what Detroit got for a superior player in Drummond (a second), I'm fine knowing that we kept Whiteside.

Problem is, trading Whiteside (which was mentioned the market isn't that great for a center) would have cost us any chance at the playoffs and we would have to take on a similar amount of salary as well.

Total opinion. You have absolutely no idea what they could have got or what the team would have done. They were not in the playoffs as it was when the season went on break. Heck they ain't in the playoffs as it is now.

You don't know what you could have gotten but everyone here is speculating anyways right? There could have been no trade even available. Drummond only got a second rounder and he's a superior/younger player.

This is true but we do know that Detroit specifically wanted expiring contracts for Drummond and to stay under the tax line. At first they thought Drummond was going to opt out but when it became apparent he was going to opt in they panicked and felt they had to deal him. I heard they could've gotten a lot more from Charlotte earlier in the year, including a 1st and a young player, but were unwilling to take on Zeller or Batum to do so because they were trying to clear their books. I also heard back in January that the Hawks would've included a 1st for Drummond before they got Capela but Detroit . The other problem is that several of the teams that could've used a Whiteside or Drummond didn't have the right contracts to match in a trade.

Your point about wanting to make the playoffs is a good one as no one could've predicted the season would be shut down but they could've possibly targeted another center in a trade. We did see Olshey come out and say that he never even considered trading Whiteside. It's probably BS but you never know with this organization.

of course it's an opinion. Just like yours is.

lol, I see my personal stalker (bailey) is still following my posts and puts a like to anyone that disagrees with me. Pretty funny. If anyone needs a like just post a disagreement to me and bailey will soon follow.
