I have to say, mostly @MARIS61, I almost always find your posts intentionally provocative, and often insulting. Condescending and rude too. That said, for one of the few times ever, I find your take here reasonable. Nothing wrong with asking what you said that was personally insulting in violation of the rules (that is, of course, unless you have been made aware of it already, which very well could be.)

I will also note that I find Sly, Chris, and all of the mods to be extremely fair, to the point of bending over backwards to accommodate some folks here.

Agreed. I've disagreed with many mods in here many times and never felt targeted.

It was over 6 mos ago. I can't remember what was said and it's our largest thread with over 27,000 posts. I'm not digging through 27,000, 10,000, or even 1,000 posts.

Again, this happened 6 mos ago.

I could see if this were a day or a week but 6 months, in that thread?!?

True or not this post is a direct reason why he would say it's playing favorites. You simply should not be able to call him a "dick". Even if he is being one.
We can't ask for Sly or any mods to mod fairly and then expect them to look past our shortcomings without the same results.
Seriously I'm not trying to provoke you or him. I'm just pointing out where this could be called discretionary.

I've been called worse. But, really, it seems it's pretty much a direct result of him and me being strong conservatives. Is what it is.

It is NOT because you are conservatives. It is because you two have insatiable needs to toss turds in the punch bowl and then run from the room laughing like a couple of frat bros and spouting smarmy remarks that add absolutely nothing to the conversation. Neither of you make much if any effort to defend your positions other than to throw out easily debunked right wing crap. And worst of all, you both know exactly what you are doing. Which makes SlyPokerDog a troll. You both need to get off the victim train. It just demeans you both further………..

And it is very hard for me to take Maris seriously. You on the other hand actually appear to believe the crap you spout……

I've also been called worse with no mod interference (at least, that I'm aware of).

I'm not conservative.

You are conservative but you at least try to be reasonable and have conversations with folks. @MARIS61 doesn’t even try to do that he simply insults, demeans, plays the victim card. It must be exhausting to live your life that way but that’s the way he has chosen to live.

No, but I wish. It was made by Salvage Works, a Kenton area reclaimed/salvaged wood company. The original owners recently sold out but it appears that several of their employees are going to take over. Fascinating place. These folks traveled around the PNW deconstructing old barns and other structures. Then they kiln dry the wood to kill any pests that might be present. Our table was made from a deconstructed old Kenton area house. It’s like 8’ X 4’ and heavy AF. Even came with a bench made of the same wood. We got very lucky a few years back and got to the Home & Garden Show early. Salvage Works had a booth, and since they didn’t want to have to haul the monster all the way back to their shop, they gave it to us for half of what they usually sell for (though when they recently sold the business everything was on a killer sale). Thank God we had the perfect spot for it. And, based on comments and questions from family and friends, we could probably sell it for twice what we paid. Great, great “family” table…….but a bitch to move when required.

But, you do hide in ways. I have tried many times to have conversations with you about your positions. I have tried to get you to clarify things. But, again and again you deliver sarcastic deflections.

That is what upsets people. You start threads and drop controversial takes and then seem surprised when people have dissenting responses. You don't often defend or clarify your positions.

This is you refusing to take responsibility. Again, you often post takes and positions which impact other posters personally, and then when your position is challenged you typically refuse to engage in any form of debate, while refusing to consider the opposing position.

It's muck raking. Pure and simple. People don't appreciate that from anybody. Left, right, or middle. Taking responsibility would be engaging in debate and being open minded. You refuse to do that regularly. As you are refusing to take responsibility for it now.
