Why?

PS: His daughter turned 40 today. He told me her party last night was of legendary proportions. Not quite sure what he meant, but I'll bet it was a good one.

BP texted me this morning that the Blazers will have one of the worst defenses in the league. He's such the pessimist. LOL

He used to call me to talk about you, lol.

Well, we're actually pulling the plug and selling. Signed a 6-month lease on another house. Crazy times.

I'm starting a new job, so that plays into this. Basically, we're selling very high in Thompson's Station, and want to purchase our next home in Murfreesboro, which is next to all the extended family. My new job is close to where we are now, so I'm wanting to get acclimated to that before our purchase over there.

Nah, I've always learned from your mistakes.
I'm not sticking up for your ass any more. It seems like you do very very well defending yourself.
Ah, that's just not true. I'll always stick up for you.

Nonetheless, according to him, he's infiltrated my ranks. Ize needs to be more careful!

Why sell? I'm more focused on paying off my house and am a year or two out from doing so. Then you can buy another place whenever the time is right and have two houses without any pressure.

Well, for one, we have two other completely paid off homes. Other than that, we plan to take the equity in this home and downsize. If it works out, the new home will be mostly paid off. We won't be enduring any capital gains taxes.

Our house went under contract this week. We're now renters for the next six months. Right out of the gate, we're having to sue the landlords, though! LOL Film @ 11.

Met with my financial advisor today. Guy is a fucking whiz, could never have retired without him. Property company that manages house I have rented for 23 years is trying to push me out. We think I can swing buying a small house. Just need a good kitchen, space for my books and a yard. Doesn't have to be as big as current garden.

You going to stay in the bay area?

Sold our house for more money than we wanted out of a potential sale without even putting it on the market. Buying a slightly bigger (but brand new house) a mile down the street. My total debt stays the same through the sale and purchase, we avoid about $30K in known expenses coming due on this old house in the next 3-5 years, and walk away with a chunk of change. I can feel good about that, even though I'm going to miss this old house.

more details?

The rental house was advertised with an outdoor kitchen/living area and a hot tub. Well, the hot tub turned out to be broke and irreparable, and the grill doesn't work, either. We wanted a discount on the rent. The owners said no deal to the repairs/replacement and no rent discount. We really had no choice.

Awesome!

At least Northern California. My cousin and his husband are buying a house in Sebastopol where costs are lower. I would consider that but preference is more central. Oakland and Berkeley are expensive but Hayward to the south or Richmond to the north possible. We are at very preliminary. My lease runs through next summer and I hope to have something lined up then.

I lived in the Sierra foothills around the Grass Valley/Nevada City area and loved it....lot of culture and diversity and great place to have cats and a garden..not that far from the bay area...about like Eugene to Portland distance

The folks buying our house are moving from Grass Valley. It’s a cool area.

Nevada City is 150 miles from San Francisco and has a Republican congressperson.

Grass Valley is where Tektronix used to design and build their switchers used by all TV broadcasters.

It's a very liberal community...one of the most diverse you'll find in a smaller city outside the bay area....I think you'd like it.
