Since he is the Top Lawyer his career should be hanged twice. With our luck he would probably resign with Federal benefits. He was not the right choice in the first place.

Theres a story about James Woods (no idea if it's true) that in his height as an actor he ran out of gas in an expensive car and walked away from it and just bought a new car instead of going back for his old car.

Ever? Any Russian?

This. I took it as he did not communicate with "the Russians" as a member of his campaign team, or for the campaign. Because that was the context of the discussion/inquiry while he was being interviewed.

But we all know, Senators in their capacity have discussions with foreign officials. Specially as Sessions was on the Armed forces committee. This is a non-story.

But let's all jump to conclusions and call Trump an evil Russian collaborator, and his cabinet bad dudes.

This is a hit job again due to the huge success of Trumps speech. Luckily the people are getting wiser to these sorts of tactics on the left, and Obama supporters in the intelligence committee..

If anything needs to be drained, its the god damn IC.

Edit: Pretty much this:

Then why not say that during his confirmation hearing? Instead he said this:

At his Jan. 10 Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing, Sessions was asked by Sen. Al Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, what he would do if he learned of any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of the 2016 campaign.

“I’m not aware of any of those activities,” he responded. He added: “I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians.”

Why not say, "As part of my duties as a senator I speak with the Russians."

Lies aren't lies when Trump or his campaign says them. Instead of listening to what they said, you are supposed to imagine what they must have meant.

Curious why the guys on here that support Trump no matter what he says or does have not replied to this thread? I asked them in another thread what it would take for them to stop supporting him.
Trump killing them personally. Not that that would stop them supporting him from hell.

I find this hilarious.
Republicans are attempting to spin this as a non-story. Yet Republicans said it was a HUGE story when Clinton lied.
Democrats attempted to spin Clinton lying as a non-story. Yet Democrats are saying this is a HUGE story.
Then you have people like me who are sitting back and watching the two sides fight over why it's okay for one person, but not the other.
But those people like me are uneducated, live in their parents basement. As well as these same people don't know the world was better in the 40/50/60's!

Fake transcript!!!

Al Franken FTW!
He should've said "What can you do for me, Al Franken? You can resign!"
But probably nobody would've got it. So never mind.

The bold part: I think that is pretty obvious on capitol hill is it not? Don't most of those guys meet w/foreign officials in the course of their duties and capacities? I mean, wasn't McCain over in Syria the other day?

With that, the whole point of the questioning was to see if anyone spoke to the Russians on behalf of the Trump campaign and I think that's the assumption he was under. He did not, like he said above.

If people want to assume that as a Senator, during his normal capacity and duties (including the Armed Services Committee), talking to Russians was him actually talking to them about Trump's campaign then they would have to provide audio proof or transcripts of their talk.

One final note, he says "I was called a surrogate" but never says "I was a surrogate" does someone calling you a "Surrogate" make you that? At any rate I think this is a non story.

Also, Sly, please read the full transcript here:

Not the cut up piece by WAPO. Interesting that this piece just comes out right as John Podesta is hired there... ;-) Sessions is coming after the pizzagate pedo fucks. Walnut sauce, pizza handkerchief dude is scared.

I guess. Clinton's was proven though. Nobody at this time has transcripts of what Sessions said, or discussed. They just have proof there was meetings. So until there is proof of what they say, the Clinton/Sessions thing is Apples & Oranges.

But, you are right about the lying. Remember when Eric Holder lied about Fast And Furious.

Remember when Hill-Billy met with Loretta Lynch for a half hour?

Conservatives had a fucking cow...

This is that x100...

Sessions left a meeting with the Trump campaign during the RNC convention to meet with the Russian ambassador?!?

What? The transcripts are out of Sessions speaking to the Senate.
Republicans are trying to spin it to it's okay for him to have meetings, because he's a senator. - It is perfectly okay for him to talk to the Russian ambassador.
Democrats are bringing up the fact that he told the Senate he didn't have the meetings. - According to the transcripts.

I'm just going to sit back and laugh as both parties be hypocrites.
As well as anyone trying to defend their party be hypocritical.

Not the transcripts I am talking about sir. I want them to provide transcripts of Sessions and the Russian amb. meeting, as to provide proof to their allegations that they were talking about Trump campaign..

Obviously it IS okay to have meetings with amb. Types.... see this tweet:

Apples to Oranges. Clinton was under FBI investigation for serious lapses in security, policy and protocol.

Sessions situation is just someone trying to make a story out of him doing his job as a Senator; see my last post, these people meet with amb. people from time to time. There is no crime here.

So it's okay if Sessions lies because a democrat lied?

Pretty low swamp bar you're setting there.

Woooooooooooooooooosh.....

That's not what I am insinuating at all.

The point was to show that Senators meet w/Amb. including Russia. The fact that she lied or forgot is just icing on the fucking cake.

You still not answering the question. Why did he lie about it?

Yeah I don't care that he met with the Russian ambassador, it's fine as he's a member of the senate.(check my edits in the previous post.)
What I care about is lying under oath to the senate.
It's a crime Republicans rightfully went after Clinton for. Democrats attempted to say it was okay. It's NOT okay.
Sessions according to the transcripts lied under oath to the senate. Which is a crime and Democrats are rightfully going after Sessions for it. Republicans are trying to say it's okay. It's NOT okay.

Anyone trying to defend either Clinton or Sessions is a hypocrite. As well as anyone who said it was okay for Clinton to lie, but now is going after Sessions is a moron.

Go read post #46. Stop drinking the media kool-aid.

Anyone trying to defend either Clinton or Sessions is a hypocrite.

After reading the full (not the WAPO cut one) transcript. I do not think he lied. The implication, insinuation, or context was about Russians and Trump's campaign communication.

He met with Russian officials under official capacity as a Senator, not a Trump campaign member.

He can't stop doing his job as a Senator, because someone "called him a surrogate, a time or two".

It's funny that you say that since you're the biggest media Kool-Aid Drinker of all the posters here. If this was somebody in Obama's administration you'd be going fucking nuts right now.

There is a bit of a difference between tweeting and testifying. You can not be prosecuted for lying on twitter.
