There are 30 GM positions in the NBA. Presumably, teams should strive to get the 30 best people in the world for these positions. The Blazers have a GM who has taken a team that won 21 games prior to his taking over the reigns to just completing consecutive 50-win seasons in addition to one of the longest consecutive sell-out streaks in the NBA. I'd say this puts the Blazer GM in the top half of the top 30 of this very elite club. So, what does this organization do to him? Leaves him twisting in the wind, leaks negative "facts" to national writers, and starts conducting a search for his replacement when they had to know he would find out about it. The professional thing to do would be calling Prtchard into a meeting, airing out any problems with him, and if nothing can be resolved, fire him if he refuses your generous severance package to resign. Then, have the scouts run the draft until a better GM can be found Instead, we get Paul Allen and his bunch of lackeys acting like high school girls who are mad at their popular boyfriend.
