Notice Sheridan: Lakers Discussed Idea of Acquiring Damian Lillard

If the package was too steep for them (basically, the BOS-BKN fleecing plus 2-3 young players like Ball/Ingram) for Kawhi, they likely wouldn't pay it for Lillard. But yeah, if I was Magic, I'd make that call, too. You'd be dumb not to.

Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, two most distant unprotected picks and swap rights for the year between and I would consider doing the deal. Then trade CJ for youth and picks. Trade Aminu for an overpaid contract and a pick.

We need to either build to contend in the next 3 years or go for youth such as the above. We are waisting Dame and CJ prime. They are nearing 30 and will start declining. PG is the position that declines the earliest.

It's not wasting time. Building a team requires you keep YOUR stars, and hope that the youth you add turns into something special. Giving your stars away for more "unproven" youth is suicide. Might as well enjoy being a hamster in a wheel. You're going nowhere. If you're impatient now, get that youth, and really get frustrated.

Just throwing it out there, oft-injured "Point God" CP3 just got a 4yr Max/160M which means that someone thinks he'll be a good-to-great player at 37.

Durable Dame D.O.L.L.A. turns 28 in 2 weeks.

"Wasting his prime" << "Keeping your stars in your uniform as long as you can"

Dude, this is so comical... the current roster is the definition of hamster wheel... this team is going nowhere fast and there is zero chance for championship... you are complaining about a rebuild that is inevitable and you want to delay it by 3 years... and probably longer because we will lose Dame for nothing like we did Aldridge instead of getting a super package of assets which would actually dramatically accelerate a rebuild... come back to reality man

No! you know i'm saying that I want to continue to build around a young Damian Lillard, and see where it goes. YOU, on the other hand, want the hamster wheel approach.

and the teams that traded CP3 got nothing even remotely close to him in return, and in reality, haven't had the success without him that they did with.

This is business Dame talking. I don't think he wants to be traded there but this is a just in case tweet for the future if he has to bounce because of Neil. What is he gonna say? fuck lebron and the lakers? I would never play with Lebron? but then again he could of just not responded to this. Who knows

No, they'll concentrate on the "typically" part. DAMIAN WANTS OUT OF PORTLAND!!!!

Be realistic man, you are selfish if you want Dame to flounder on a .500 team in Portland during his prime years
This is RIDICULOUS. You do not DESERVE to win a title just because you're a good basketball player. If you're good enough you'll win it. I get that players might start to think this way but FANS? By this reasoning Portland should only ever keep crappy players, because it's cruel on the good ones to keep them.

Blazers being "cheap"? Reading too much into it?

Chris. Fucking. Sheridan.

...and Get. More. Fucking. Sports.com! GTFO with this garbage. There is no source to this. It's such BS. My buddy in Hawaii called me last night going WTF because Bleacher/Report picked this up and had it running off the front page of CNN.com. Complete and total lunacy. #ThanksTrump

As per the ridiculous article, this is the only mention of Lillard's name:
A number of trade options are being considered by Lakers executives Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka, and names that are being bandied about include Damian Lillard, Kevin Love, DeMar DeRozan, Bradley Beal, and John Wall … among others.

Idiots still won't believe he means that.

Did you believe LMA when he talked about wanting to be the greatest Blazer ever?

Maybe Dame is the only player in the NBA who isn't a mercenary...or maybe he is just better than most at PR.
