Yeah, just from my take on him - as annoying as he is as a sports guy (I had to turn him off sometimes) as a person I think he'd be a really nice guy still. Rough around the edges a bit (more of a defense mechanism it feels like), but overall a really solid guy who remembers where he came from. When I listened to him just a couple years ago he talked about Portland (The city) often.

I heard some stories about him though, from the past couple years, where he was just a real tool in person to people. So I don't know....

That sucks. I wonder what the circumstances were?

Not liking this package is fine... but you need to build for 3 years down the road... what I don’t understand is the mentality that you would rather go down with the ship than trade Dame for assets... and let’s be real, Dame’s value will NEVER be higher then right now after getting in 1st team...
This is actually the WORST time to trade Dame. He instantly makes any team he is traded to better which makes their draft picks way less valuable. You'd have to find a team that has someone elses pick that is going to be bad. The only two that come to mind are the Celtics (they have the Kings pick in 2019 as long as it isn't #1) or the 76ers (they have Miami's 2021 unprotected pick).

Then we wouldn't have to worry about how good Dame made them and they both have good young assets to trade back too. The Celtics have Kyrie though so unless it was part of a 3-way trade I doubt there is interest there.

It just doesn't make sense to trade Dame.

Unfortunately, sports media, like all media, concerns itself with the emotions rather than the logic.

Amigo, remind me how many posts you made buggin’ about @HCP and his treatment of all the rooks, you included? The people that directly accuse folks of being worked up are typically the ones that are most worked up.

It’s not a judgment or knock. People should just learn to be honest with themselves and others.

As I’ve said before, the Hcp was all a ruse. If I had an issue with him, I still would. I simply played him At his own bully game by playing the ultimate bitch victim and turning the tides.
Who said he is the only one able to play a character around here?
Who’s the one holding a grudge man? Lol, I never truly ever gave a shit and I still don’t, I just went over the top with the bs not knowing some people’s limits. Oh well. Not my line, and if you can’t take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

So, you made all that effort to look like a big whiny b?

Imma have to say.... you’re still my dogg, but I’d argue that you played yourself. That was a lot of effort there.

Nah not really. But I’m creative. :)
If I played myself I’d be pissed off or something but I’m not the one who has taken it all serious and remains bent or playing someone who is bent, whatever it may be.

Nobody believes you, but since you seem embarrassed, we'll put up with this cover story.

One of the stories I heard was from a guy who worked on one of the national shows.... I think either Dan Patrick or one of those sort. He was just one of the staff, and he ran into Colin at a dinner and he said Colin was just extremely rude. That's the one story that came to mind.

Best way to get a superteam started? Don't give away your All NBA 1st teamer. I hear that's the hardest part to acquire.
I was thinking pretty much this when I was out and about today. Losing Dame is the worst possible thing that could happen. He is literally our only chance to attract and keep the third star we need. Even if we think the chance of that is slim now, it goes all the way down to zero without Dame.

Paul should tell olshea he will be fired if he delt Lillard.

I don't think Celtics are invested in Kyrie long term. They seem to be wary of his injury issues and would probably be open to trading him for another point guard. Problem is dealing with Ainge you will never get a fair deal.

76ers would be a great trade partner though. Fultz, Smith, Saric and Miami pick for Dame would be good for both sides I feel. Bayless thrown in for salary matching purposes I think. We get a new young core plus a potentially great pick, they get a star to go along with Ben and Embiid.

What I'm saying though is even if Boston traded Irving, they would expect to receive something of great value for him and the Blazers wouldn't want Irving for Dame.

For the sake of argument, let's say that the Lakers realize that they're not getting Dame from Portland, but inquire about CJ. What would it take from the Lakers side for a CJ-to-LA deal to make sense from Portland's perspective?

I want Ingram over anyone they have, personally

Start with Ingram and take on our salary dumps, but I'd tell them to kick rocks. Ain't no way I want to play a part in improving LA.

The list starts and stops at Ingram.

Ingram and two first round draft picks. And cash. Just because.

Don't know where to ask this, so I'll ask it here:

Can someone explain to me the context of Dame's "STFU" tweet from June 30th?

Thanks

I think the Lakers looking to get rid of the Ball headache with any serious trade that is for high profile players.
