OT Should females compete against biological males?

The world we now live in has become a minefield of extremes. Too many people are pushing the bounderies of their rights, without wanting bounderies placed on their responsibilities.

An example.

I support the right/freedom of all people of legal age to drink alcohol, if they choose to. If I was "all in" on that right, I would support their right to be drunk all of the time including when a pilot flys a commercial passanger airplane when drunk. That would be irresponsible both on the pilots part, and my part for supporting them.

My point is, too many special interest groups with agendas are going too far with their rights agendas, while refusing any responsibility for their actions. This includes many special interest agendas including the one in the op.

I support trans gender rights, within responsible limits. But I refuse to be bullied into supporting irresponsible behavior. Anyone that tries to bully another into supporting irresponsible behavior has gone too far, and has a very weak case.
Where is the irresponsible part of supporting Trans rights?

No bodybuilder looks "natural". Just seems like an odd opinion to insert into the discussion.

These are my opinions, not yours. That is simple to understand. Don't put an "odd opinion" label on me. I'll go no further with this.

My point is there's no real relevance to the thread.

Sweet pickles are an abomination and should be disallowed. Don't try to change my mind. They're gross.

There are plenty of athletes that beyond sexual identity change their body types to win at sports...sometimes to make a different weight class as in boxing or wrestling....extreme example..if the second best boxer in the world knew he could switch genders to win a world championship....would they do that for the paycheck or to go down in history as a champ....let's say it's a guy like a young Tyson....should he be allowed to fight the female world champ for a belt? Maybe I'm jost old fashioned but it's different in contact sports than it was for the jazz drummer who was transgendered in the 50s ....dance, arts, many fields I think can cross gender lines....my point is boxing is not one of those ..what if that person changed back to male after winning a championship and just taking estrogen treatments for a stretch before deciding it was a mistake...although in this case a profitable one.

Where is the irresponsible part of supporting Trans rights?

A few years ago in the Philippines, an American soldier or Marine was in a bar, was seduced by a cute Filipino woman, and when her pants came down, she was a man. Feeling used and abused, he killed her in a shocked rage, and is in prison for murder.

A long time ago, the definition of the word "rape" was extended to voluntary sex between a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy. Should the rape definition now be extended to include a transsexual person deceiving someone into sex?

when it comes to genocide, torture or rape I can multi task my hate...remembering it has nothing to do with it...I'm not the Dalai Lama

What a quaint S2 post.

Personally, I'd rather just see a woman...who was born a woman.....kick a field goal.

Thread title asks: Should females compete against biological males?

I have no problem with this. And the question as stated in the title has nothing to do with transgender concerns. If a woman wants to compete against a man no one should have a problem with it.

Now, if the OP really wants to know if someone who was originally a male and is now a transgender female should they be allowed to compete in female only sporting events that is a completely different question. Is it fair? That's a good question. Is it a problem? Now that is the real question. What problems have we seen arise from this? Have colleges stopped giving scholarships to females in favor of transgender athletes only? Have colleges or professional women's teams actively encouraged or paid for male athletes to transgender to female? Is this really a problem or is this just some icky what if against transgenderism? I remember hearing that if we allow transgendered into public bathrooms they were going to start raping kids.

WNBA'S LAYSHIA CLARENDON UNDERGOES BREAST REMOVAL SURGERY
Hopes To Inspire Trans Athletes

WNBA star Layshia Clarendon has undergone successful surgery to have her breasts removed -- and is now going public about it in hopes of inspiring other trans athletes.

Clarendon -- who identifies as non-binary -- uses all pronouns (she/her/they/them/he/him).

In other words ... by society's standards, Layshia is comfortable being referred to as a woman ... but personally, doesn't identify solely with one specific gender.

Sources close to Layshia tell us the 29-year-old NY Liberty star underwent breast removal surgery (also known as "top surgery") in early January and is recovering well.

"I’m feeling free & euphoric in my body & want Trans people to know and see that we’ve always existed & no one can erase us," Layshia said in a statement.

You may be wondering ... are there any issues with the WNBA, which has the "W" for "Women" right there in the name of the league?

The short answer is no.

We're told Layshia has been in contact with the league and there are ZERO issues with her status as a player.

As one source close to Layshia explained to us, "Layshia does not identify as a man. They're not journeying to a destination. Gender is actually a spectrum."

One of the main reasons Layshia is going public with her story ... we're told Layshia wants to initiate a "very real, inclusive, sensitive conversation about how to INCLUDE trans people in sports, instead of how to exclude them."

"Trans youth want to participate in sports ... let's have the conversation."

Layshia was a 1st-round pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft -- and was an All-Star in 2017.

Do you feel that you have an advantage in anybsport over all women, just by being a guy?
My wife can kick my butt on a tennis court with a long volley but she can't return my serve if it's clicking..she was a second place champion in Taiwan women's tennis competiton....check the difference in pitch speed between women's and men's baseball...it's pretty substantial....most male baseball players would knock female pitchers out of the park....there may be an exception but generally....they are two different games

But this seems to be assumes every trans person wanting to compete in sports is elite at their sports, and is going to have an unfair advantage. Especially going down to like, the high school level. Some of them just want to be able to compete, and are probably just ok.

Then, there's Luis Castillo and that change-up.

Women do compete against men in sports...I have no problem with that....I do have a problem with boxing as one of those sports...

Well, then, mind your p's and q's.
You know what you can do with your fluff......when you actually have something of interest...I'll mark it on the calendar....carry on....quaint.....not the word that works when addressing contempt for horrible crimes....

It's interesting that TMZ decided to coverup Layshia's nipples.

Well, we all can count on you to change the world, then. Carry on.

Ok. Last time. Body builders are athletes. Women that build their bodies to be men are what I refer to. So, in essence, they want to be men. They compete in Body Builder Contests which is Sport.
Now, If you look at other threads you will see posters go way off topic. For example: "Sweet pickles are an abomination and should be disallowed. Don't try to change my mind. They're gross.[/QUOTE]". What???

I'm just expressing my opinion and I will let this go away. This conversation drains positive energy. Let's have fun here. Stay healthy and safe, my friend.

Yes, should females be allowed to compete against biological males? If they want to, why the hell not?

And I have no problem with you expressing your opinion. I don't believe I said you or anyone else in this thread couldn't or shouldn't.

My position is that straight cis men do not have the right to dictate what transgender women, or transgender men, can and cannot do. Or to decide what is or us not "responsible" behavior for transgender people.

I am quite sure you would be outraged by the reverse.

I think there are extenuating circumstances....I'd say the same about a child boxing an adult or many different scenarios I think not only are risky but potentially dangerous . I would never complain or feel slighted by not being able to compete in a women's boxing match as a male....and to be frank...sexuality has absolutely nothing to do with my reasoning behind certain sports being different from others concerning this. My concerns are about safety, not political correctness.

I just checked youtube and there are matches between male and female boxers underground fight clubs with gambling and some mixed fighting clubs....this is happening now....I'll never watch it...disappointing to learn from my view...call me conservative

There are discussions going on now about does a bio male that transitioned to female have an advantage? There are girls, young women and women that feel its a definite advantage in certain sports, like sprinting as the male bone structure and muscles help.
This argument has evolved because of there are cases where young women feel cheated when it comes to competing for scholarships or endorsements, an there have been bio males winning going away. Girls, young women put many hours into training and certain sports and feel its unfair. This is a dilemma as one group is concerned about inclusion and the other about on a level field.
My daughter was good enough to earn a spot on mens soccer team when in middle school and tried out for HS boys team and dint make the cut as she was simply not as strong and powerful as compared, if she had been Im convinced she would have been selected. If my son wanted to play girls hs softball they would have refused, concerned about precedent.

I would like to see these examples of colleges giving transgendered scholarships over women and businesses giving those same athletes endorsements.

I'm sure liberally minded Universities such as Princeton would try that.

I would like to see these examples of colleges giving transgendered scholarships over women and businesses giving those same athletes endorsements.

And I know there are transgendered people who have endorsement deals, I'm just not sure those came at the expense of female athletes getting them or in addition to female athletes getting them.
