I voted no but I'd like to change my vote to yes.
I know next to nothing about cars.
Where should I take my 2015 Toyota Yaris for maintenance? Is a Toyota dealership my best bet? I've only owned it two years but in that time I've only had the oil changed regularly. I think it's due for things like transmission fluid change? And belt replacements. What are spark plugs? Do I need those replaced?
I just hit 80k miles. Was at 50k when I got it. But I think I will just go to the dealership, at least this time.Yelp mechanics in your area. Or Toyota mechanics in your area.
What's your mileage? I believe timing belt is around 100k miles. Spark plugs, who knows, they last a while, I'd wait until you misfire or something or you have sluggish performance.
You should prob get a 30k interval service where they inspect everything. Probably 300-400 bucks? Independant mechanic probably 250 I'd guess.
I'd probably go to the dealership if I were you, but don't let them do anything other than a diagnosis and what's included.

6 cracks per square inch is what i went off of for time to change a serpentine belt.Based on:
http://toyota.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7690/~/does-my-vehicle-have-a-timing-belt-or-timing-chain?
A 2015 Yaris has a timing chain - which in theory should never need to be changed (timing belts usually need change every 60-100K miles).
You likely have a serpentine belt (which runs some of the accessories) - but changing this is required only if there is a problem with it, not based on a schedule.
Yeah, probably a smart move. Just look up the dealership on yelp to see how they are.

@VanillaGorilla, i would take it to the dealer first to make sure everything is fine. after that, any reputable shop will be just fine if you dont want to do the work yourself.
Check installation of driver’s floor mat
That is just a cut and paste from Toyota's document.
@VanillaGorilla fuck all that dealer and timing chain crap. What we need is a sawzall and a case of beer!
I would actually love that, looks dope.@VanillaGorilla fuck all that dealer and timing chain crap. What we need is a sawzall and a case of beer!

On an unrelated note, do you have any idea why sometimes I don't get an alert when I'm tagged? Happened with this post and has happened before.
AndroidNot sure. Windows? Android? IOS?
Just yesterday we got behind q Tesla and i told my wife that it wasn't too late to switch from the Volvo XC90 that we've ordered to a Tesla. She loves the idea of a car with no gasoline required.I saw a machine gun metal Tesla Model X today that had black dubs and limo tint. It looked pretty freakin' awesome.

She won't have to wait at the pump but she would still have to plug it in. There are definitely trade offs.Just yesterday we got behind q Tesla and i told my wife that it wasn't too late to switch from the Volvo XC90 that we've ordered to a Tesla.
