Sign and Trades for LaMarcus?

Would Portland not have to renounce all of their other free agents with a sign and trade? I mean, there's no way Wes or AAA would be back if we did that anyway. Oh wait, I guess if we wanted to sign someone like DeAndre they'd have to do that anyway.

I'm not sure if the Blazers are enough under the cap after renouncing LMA to sign Butler.

Seems like S&T would be a pretty big loophole here.

Someone like Deandre? Who is that?

And they'd both take one year deals.
The max is 4 years in a S&T, no? So zero benefit to the player if he facilitates a deal. I mean, he can sign elsewhere for 4.

Sounds like Jimmy Butler wants out of Chi Town, is there any way to do a sign and trade for him and LMA? We could sign a DeAndre like player beforehand and start Meyers at the 4.
I'd try to get Jimmy Butler while keeping LA.. something centered around Batum maybe? Because if we end up getting Jimmy Butler to play alongside Wes and Dame there would be no chance of Aldridge leaving.

Hopefully Olshey convinces Afflalo to accept his option by dating he will trade him somewhere where he'll start. Could flip him, Batum, and 23 (even 2018 first round pick) for Butler and Gibson. Gibson 8.5M coupled with Kaman and Blake could be a good enough return for the Clippers if DeAndre was gone and was interested in coming here, but could also be an option in a sign and trade for someone else. Just thinking out loud

True, unless the player likes the organization and wants to help them get something instead of nothing when the player leaves.

Seems like his interest is in benefiting his new organization.

Too bad they didn't do this last year when they should have. We won nothing last year, and instead, could have probably had Wiggins, Thompson and a 1st round pick or two. We'd be better off right now than we are now, even if he stays
