harden himself said he wanted to play more off the ball in brooklyn, but it turned out that kyrie wanted the same thing lol, so harden remained main playmaker (hes better playmaker than kyrie of course), but simmons would allow harden to play more of the ball and simmons could drive to the basket with the spacing brooklyn has and obviously, simmons would improve their rebounding and defense

Russ is like an old, decrepit, foot shorter version of Ben who unlike been is not afraid due to his lack of a shot to jack up a shot at any time. So they get away from what annoyed them about Ben (that he refused to shoot because he was bad at it) but even though Russ might have stat lines like Ben with the assists and the rebounding and the scoring around the same mark... Russ won't defend his position even though I think he's capable of it, let alone defend every other position on the floor.

Russ is a big name so maybe that would be attractive to a jackass like Morey and if it was, good for us but this would be terrible for the Sixers and maybe that's what they deserve.

I don't think Neil had the power to trade Dame. I think he and Morey were trying to set up a series of events hoping it became an appealing option to Jody, or that Dame became upset enough that he asked out.

That could have gotten Neil another 5 years to rebuild the team.

I don’t have the highest regard for Jody, but I’m pretty sure between her and the Vulcans, if Dame asked out the first thing following that would be Olshey getting fired.

Pretty much the only way for that to be appealing would be for them to say, “Yup, Olshey sucked at his job so now we either have to trade Dame for assets or wait for him to demand a trade because Olshey sucked so much.”

Either way it would immediately place the blame square on Olshey.

No way Olshey would’ve survived.

That might be one guy around the level that would get Morey to take notice. Personally, I think Morey's going to have to accept a lot less than he's been looking for for Simmons.

Tobias is worse than CJ and has a slightly worse contract. The only appeal on paper with replacing him for CJ is height. But his lack of denfense makes it a waste.

Yeah that was actually the big reason I didn’t like the lineup. I like him more at the 4 but Dame Norm Nas Harris Nurk keeps with the undersized theme.
Anyway, I’ve been convinced. No Harris

being terrible defensively at SF/PF really isn’t an option imo lol

Tobias Harris is a little better player than CJ, and probably a better fit. But, he makes 5M/year more than CJ does and that leaves Portland in the same boat: Dame without an all-star talent to run with and 5 million less in flexibility.
