And yes, I'd happily do that deal. Don't know why toronto would, however.

that would be a dream trade for the Blazers. Adding Siakam and a top-7 pick, possibly top 3, at the cost of just Simons? Yes please

So not really a rumor and you just made it up?
Okay-
Simons, Bledsoe and the Milwaukie pick for Giannis!
I mean it’s their pick so if they give up Giannis they can tank and make it better.
Make it happen Joe!

Which wouldn't work since we have to sign and trade simons after the draft
True...so their is no way it couldn't happen if we agreed to draft a player they want and we signed and traded Simons after the draft?

It can, technically. And I know there's always tampering. But what happens if we draft who they want, and then Detroit throws a shit load of money at simons? We have a draftee we don't maybe want?

I didn’t make it up. I included a link.

It is now a rumor that the Blazers are going after Giannis and they are offering Simons, Bledsoe and the Milwaukie pick.

You heard it here first!

No brainer from TORs end with their other players who might be ready to be better than Siakam. Not a slam dunk at all from our end. I would consider it but ultimately not sure if I would do it.

Are you guys saying you consider Simons better than Siakam?

If Dame were to miss any time....who would you want to take over the scoring load?
Anfernee?
Or
Pascal?
I'm running with ya young gun on this one.
(would love Siakam, though)

The intention is to build a contender. We can't build one without Dame, so what roster would be the best in Dame's absence should not be a consideration. The only thing that matters is what roster would be most likely to contend for a title with a healthy Dame. In that regard, it's Pascal over Simons, easily.

If Dame was to miss any time then what gives? Go back into the lottery. The Blazers needs to find Dame his robin and Siakam just might be that guy.

I think at 22, Simons is better than Siakam was at 22. For a guy who is being paid almost another 70 million dollars, and is 28 and realistically won't get significantly better, and is overpaid, yes I consider Simons a better fit for the team than Siakam.

A poor defensive, ball dominating, scoring guard is a better fit next to Dame than a long, athletic, All Star wing? Interesting...

Simons is good, no doubt about that.

Dame, Hart, Nas, Siakam, Nurk seems like the best starting lineup we've had in a LONG time.

And we could pick best player available with our pick. And I believe we'd still have the TPE.

And at 22, Siakam was a 2 way player averaging 22.9pts, 7.3reb per game, with a defensive rating of 104.3.

Siakim didn't even begin playing basketball til 17 years old. still room for improvement IMHO, especially with Dame's gravity on the offensive side of the ball, and Nurk anchoring the defense.

Um, where are you getting those #'s for a 22 year old Siakim? At 22, his rookie year, he averaged 4.2 ppg, and averaged 15 minutes. He didn't averaged over 15 points until his 3rd year (24 years old). You're going off of his averages as a 25 year old, after 2 years of college, and 3 years of NBA.

Siakim is 28 years old, Simons is 22. That's a 6 year age difference.

If the Raptors had seen Siakim after he turned 22, looked at his stats, they'd probably jump at the chance at trading him for someone who is 22 and had the season like Simons did last year.

The guy who created this rumor is just throwing shit at the wall and seeing it stick. It's pointless to debate this, since it'll never happen.

Shoot, you're right. For some reason I had it in my head that he was 25 right now and just looked up stats from 3 years ago.

Regardless, I do like that starting lineup.

An undersized SG with a D-RAPTOR of 231/250, pretty much the opposite of the Raptors current roster makeup.

Oh but don't worry a rapidly declining Eric Bledsoe and a pick that will likely be between 27-30 makes up for losing Siakam, who is about to make his second All-NBA team.

If you're looking to pair Scottie Barnes with someone close to his age you already have Gary Trent Jr. on that roster as well. They are like 6-months apart, him and Simons.

Get outta here you bums. Develop your own PF.

Thing is, this trade rumor was made up by a guy who just throws players into a trade machine and implies it's a rumor.
And I agree about Bledsoe, his value is that he's an expiring contract (basically) and most likely the team will be eating the guaranteed portion of it as they waive him

Are we talking about a "sign and trade? This seems unlikely. Would he fit with both Van Vleet and Trent?
Simons (who is from Florida) would have to sign off on moving to Toronto. Much like Portland, Toronto is not for
everyone.

I would like to know however what other options we have to get Siakam. He makes 33 million until July. So Bledsoe, plus our lottery pick, plus what?

Very unlikely to happen no matter what. This was just a fan bois "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" rumor.

Read more of the trade suggestions from the link. They're all garbage and not based in reality.
