The only thing that sucks is his trade value may take a hit.
From an ankle sprain? If he sat out now he should already be good before the playoffs ended and would still have a full summer to still work on his game.

I don’t think it hurts his trade value at all in all honesty.

I'd think it was at least a grade 2 sprain...it looked nasty. I cringed in empathy when I saw it because I've had my share of sprained ankles. I think once it was probably grade 2...barely. I cried and whined and moaned and groaned like it was a grade 7 though

Yeah, I rolled mine once after I landed on a curb in a pickup game in the company parking lot. I remember laying on the couch that night doing the Lamaze breathing techniques my wife had been learning for our soon-to-be-born son. Either I’m just a total wus (probable) or that shit doesn’t work at all. I’m still in awe of my wife doing natural childbirth for our 3 kids. Actually, I’m still trying to figure out how I ever got laid again after the first one.

Grade 2 - but even that amount of time = death for us:

We'll see i guess? 3-4 weeks with 9 days off for the break.
Not sure that spells death but it most certainly could make Billups change the rotation a bit? Sharpe to the 2 spot and let the rest fall into place?
Winslow should be coming back I would presume? Johnson has played a bit? They have the new guy Arcidiacono that actually plays PG. He isn't a threat to score but he does distribute pretty well.
If Simons is back around St. Patrick's day they could deal with this.

I believe Justise suffered a grade 2 ankle sprain as well and hasn’t played in 2 months. Ant could legitimately be out for the remainder of the regular season.

Which would be best for this organization in multiple ways.

Saint Patrick day is March 17th. Simons got hurt on February 14th. With that nasty landing he had, no way he’s back in middle of March. If he does come back this year, it will be closer to April. There is no timetable for his return for a reason, he may still have torn a ligament somewhere, just not fully broken

Grade 2 sprain. 2-6 weeks.

That's because we were pumping all the Toradol into Payton. Plenty Toradol now.

And I am really sick of all these Toradol jokes but they just write themselves...

0 reason to rush back.

In my non medical professional opinion having seen many terribly rolled ankles in my life including my own I’d say it’s gonna be on the 6-10 week end if he doesn’t end up getting surgery. Honestly might have been better if he had a clean snap bones heal quick. Ligaments do not.

You do have a point unless they make the playoffs.
Could this team decide to tank? Sure. Obviously they did last year.
IMHO that won't happen with Lillard on the court.
I guess we'll see.
