Hey, they did a restoration of one of these cars on the cable show Wheeler Dealers. It was red, too. I think they got the car in Florida and restored and sold it in England.

Wheeler Dealers now works out of LA with two Englishmen working their auto projects. It's one of my favorite shows and I highly recommend it.

Ed is no longer with the show. They've substituted another Englishman whom I like just as well. They call him 'Ant'. Love that show no matter where it comes from and I'm not even a big car kind of guy. I just like cars and engines. The show is so good that it even hooks me.
Although I like all aspects of car restoration I think I like the work on the head the best. Why? No idea. Maybe it's just because it's got so many nicely machined parts that all work well together. It's the pinnacle By B of man's achievements that doesn't involve electronics or medicine.
By the same logic, I like guns, not because of what they can do but because they are so nicely designed and machined to do what they do. Been a shooter since I was 8 with my first bb gun. Got my first rifle when I was 12. Used to own a .38 special and then a .357 Colt Python magnum along with my .22 long rifle and now my .270 Sako and my Shotgun. Had an M14 and then an M16 in the Army. Had a USMC M14 in Vietnam even though I was in the Army.

Interesting tid bit of useless information. My mechanic at Peter's Auto Works (Peter) served in the Marine Corps on the same little 'Monkey' mountain in Vietnam at the same time but never met there. We even ate in the same Navy mess hall. My detachment and I presume his, was not large enough to sustain it's own mess hall so three times a day we all trucked down the small mountain to the nearby Naval Base mess hall. God damn the Navy had infinitely better food than the Army.

I know. Edd left because the show's new bosses at Velocity (now Motor Trend) made it more about show-business and less about the restoration work. It is still a nice show - but Edd was better at getting into the details, imho.

Edd still maintains a presence here and as I said, we see him around every once in a while.

I use to ride to the VA along with some other combat Vets including on Marine who lives very near me in Lake Oswego, who claimed he met Ed here in Lake Oswego and that Ed pronounced his last name [cheena]. I suspect it was bullshit but how do you pronounce his name? I think it was pronounced China, like the country, on one broadcast.
