haha I wish. I am in NW already shoveled my driveway and father in laws driveway. Heading out to do my 90 year old neighbors driveway in a bit.

...my back is killing me too after diging out one 3-car driveway! You're a Saint.

I thought I was all prepared for snow and ice because I still had a 20 pound bag of ice melt left from last year. Until this year I never knew it could get too cold for ice melt to work. My neighbors have had the same experience. Bizarre......

...the snow over here is so cold and dry that you can push broom right thru it down to the bare dry pavement! It's wild.
 
Was just going to wait it out and did not bother to put the studded tires on a car. Put them on this morning to get out for a bit. Far fewer cashiers at the store but not as many shoppers either.
 
Finally got our power back last night. Internet still out and CenturyLink wants to charge me $100 to come fix it.....and can't until Jan 27th.

CenturyLink is far worse than Comcast. Quantum Fiber is the same as CenturyLink.

Avoid at all costs.

And I hate Comcast.

We need to offer municipal fiber to every home that has electric service. Or at least need to split ISP and their utilities into separate companies and force th for utilities to sell to other ISPs at competitive prices.

App says we are getting a signal.....CenturyLink says we are getting a signal. Sounds like it's the modem.....is that the box that sends the signal to the house, or is that the one mounted on the wall?

They say that's MY equipment that they sold to us.

Can I just go buy a new one?

Better than me trying to explain. How old is your equipment and have you updated its drivers?

The $100 you would have to spend for a service call is probably better spent on a new modem/router.

On the wall. Unplug it from the outlet for 20 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on. Let it reconnect.
 
Get rid of century link. They suck. The servers are down in lane county for spectrum from 9:30 pm last night and they said should be back up after two pm. They had to clear the roads to get to the server all night and are fixing it now. Probably a fallen tree again I didn’t miss the Internet that much. I have a big library of films and music to enjoy

Modem should be the box in your house. If they are charging you monthly for it I would think they'd get you a knew one on their dime.

If you aren't paying for it monthly, might be on you. So you'll have to buy it from them or find a modem that they support if you want to go buy your own. Definitely try unplugging for a few minutes and plugging it back in if they haven't already had you try that.

If you have Ziply as an option I'd choose them over Comcast or CenturyLink every day of the week and twice on Sunday. SO much better. Great speeds, great service, great support.

I wish I could get them at my house. Haven't had a problem since switching to Ziply at work and our bill is 1/3 of what Comcast wanted to charge. And download speed is double (upload is 20x faster), with better reliability.

Today there is a bright light in the sky that hurts my eyes if I look at it. I suppose it must be a Jewish Space Laser.

Also everything else up there is baby blue. Another gender reveal stunt?

Oscillations between light and dark continue though. I feel like there is a pattern to these changes somehow???
