So much for the Maynor experiment

Are you completely clueless to what is happening here? I got viciously attacked by several posters for making comments they disagreed with. It was only after that happened that I started to reply in kind.

Viciously attacked? hahahahahahhaha

So explain why it was okay for you to go into a completely separate thread and start attacking me? Was that acceptable behavior?

Were you really expecting a serious discussion about how terrible Maynor is after he has had only 1 practice and played in 2 games with his new team?
Yes. Holy crap, we have discussions about every little thing on this board. We break the game and the players down piece-by-piece and examine all their flaws. It seems entirely reasonable to me that after making a trade for a backup point guard, an area of weakness for the team, that we comment on the new guy. Did I say that Maynor was never going to work out? No. I said that in the first two games his performance has been disappointing, which I daresay is the feeling of everyone around here. I'm also hoping he is the answer, and I hope his play begins to improve, starting tonight. But I see no reason why I can't offer my impressions after two games.

I sometimes almost forget how infantile this board is. If you guys could all get together in one room, you'd probably have a farting contest and then see who could pee the furthest.

Hell yes!

Oy.

You went out of your way to insult me, my friend. You had a good time doing it, and you even brought my politics into the discussion. Now you're all upset because I went after you in a different thread. You really need to put on your big boy pants and grow up.

Hardly. There are people on this board who do nothing but make personal attacks all day long, or post inane comments, or try to be clowns. There is a LOT of clowning here. It's always been this way.

I would never make personal attacks you motherless cheesecloth of used Gorgonzola bread!

Okay, so you claim that the board is infantile and yet you were the one who went into a completely different thread and started handing out personal insults. You really don't see the hypocrisy in that?

Of course not. You are one of the most mature, responsible, and restrained people on this board. You hold to a higher standard in every way, and should be emulated by all of us.

I wish I could watch more Blazers to keep up with threads like this

How dare you insult me!!!

Okay, but why did you title your thread such then?

What's funny is that he never said the word "disappointing" in his original post. He said that Maynor was as bad, if not worse, than our last point guard. That's a damn site more extreme than 'disappointing'.

What I see is a bunch of people piling on me when my opinion varies from theirs. I received a lot of attacks, and decided to attack back. If you don't like the game, don't start it.

Well I think you're sexy!

Is that what happened at the first M&G with KP after I left? All I know is ABM and SlyPokerDog were talking about feeding Ben Golliver some skinny-ritas and buffalo wings...so I bailed.

The "Maynor Experiment" has been a disappointment so far. No one can deny that. I was giving my impressions after his second game. This is what we do here. We spout off after wins and losses and trades and everything else. If the "Maynor Experiment" ends up working out, I will be thrilled. I WANT it to work out. We NEED a good backup point guard. But in the first two games, Maynor has looked very average. That is why I titled my thread the way I did.

How come none of you met up with me for the peeing contest?

13 feet, beat that!

I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but I mind it when people make it personal and pile on like a bunch of 10-year-olds. That's what this board has become.

Okay back on topic.

This is the way I see it. I'm not as concerned with the individual accomplishments as I am with how the team runs when Lillard is out. What was really nice was the offense didn't fizz out. Maynor wasn't "lighting it up", but he was able to take the ball past half court and set the offense up quickly. He didn't turn the ball over either.

So when I see something like "disappointed", I just have to disagree. I am ecstatic that our offense doesn't suffer the moment price or Nolan check in.

And towards the OP--if we get "very average" play from the backup PG, that's already a huge futhamuckin win over where we've been. And it was for a trade exception and Ronnie Price being cut. Really??!

When your opinion is wrong, you're going to get piled on.

That's a very reasonable comment, without getting personal. I can respect that.

And when you make a personal attack, like you did, you can expect to receive the same back from me.

Ah, so when I make an offhanded comment about you sticking to politics, that gives you carte blanche to start attacking me throughout the board? Seems to me you are the one who got butthurt over a little ribbing, not me.

I think the timing of the thread was bad. It was a heart breaking loss and I'm sure many were a bit upset. Posting this, with its title would guarantee a perfect storm for everyone to jump on the op. I know I was pissed when I first saw it.

But reading it today with some sleep and some love from my girl; it actually wasn't as bad as I thought when I first read it. Not giving anyone excuses, but we are all fans here and wear blazer pride on our sleeve. Sometimes that fandom can cause everyone to flip the fuck out, including myself. Shit look at my threads on the hickson or anti-lma banter. Things can get personal, but we are all grown men. We all are blazer fans right? Let's just hug and move on.

Much love and respect,
Mags
