So NOW do you understand what I'm talking about??? We are a better team this year.

I can't state enough how garbage Vonleh is. For some reason people think just because he's 20 it assures he's going to be a stud. He does nothing, not even a glimmer of hope on what people see in him. I would love to trade him for a 2nd rounder if he's even that valuable

Why does this post remind me of a thread started during the regular season last year about CJ?
I thought the same of that thread that I think of this post.
:blahblah:

But fyi. Vonleh has shown flashes of what he can do. Just it's a play here, and a play there.
Have to look for little things.

In life, living moment to moment is good.

In sports, as a fan, it is not.

What flashes has he shown? He can't shoot in real games, just like Babbit couldn't. He doesn't rebound, plus he has no confidence whatsoever, everytime he has a wide open shot he either passes it up or when he finally does shoot he never makes it. People love to say well he's so young but look at Randall he's the same age and had the same college experience and is much better than Vonleh, plus did I mention HE MISSED HIS WHOLE ROOKIE YEAR. Yet he's done way better than Vonleh. He's garbage trust me he won't be shit..

It just makes total sense why CHA would trade him for a one year rental in Batum. That tells you enough right there..

Did you have confidence at your new, high stress job at 20?

Wait, are you even 20?

Losing Aldridge hurts the most because it allows teams to double Dame.
Teams doubled the shit out of Dame when we HAD LMA. This idea that LMA created space for Dame is a total myth. The doubling of Dame is a coaching issue, not a personnel issue. The ONLY thing he provided was an occasional place to throw the ball into the post, but it happened so rarely that we're not really all that worse off. And since he stopped passing out of the post last season (unlike the previous season) he never created open shots for anyone when he got the ball in the post.

You actually believed what you just posted? You actually believe that LA didn't take a load OFF of Dame? NO player in the post for us now demands a double team. NOBODY will be left open ever anymore. LA got doubled 90% of the time he had the ball down low, which in turn created mismatches and opportunities for others. Now we have to work twice as hard to get a quality shot. Don't let you hatred for Aldridge blind your common sense of the game of basketball and how it works!

Simply not true. The VAST majority of his shots came off pick/pops, and in EVERY SINGLE INSTANCE the defense doubled Dame and let LMA have the wide open 18' jumper. He was rarely guarded by single-coverage in those cases, and NEVER doubled. In the cases where he did get the ball in the post - which, again, was rare - he would draw a double 50% of the time, at best. So maybe 4 times per game he'd draw a double (on average - there were teams that would always send a double, and teams that would never send a double)? And last season he completely stopped passing out of the post, so he wasn't creating any open looks for others like he did the previous season.

Incorrect; Randle played in a game his rookie year.

But Dame is shooting a better percentage and scoring more without Aldridge.

So far. It's only a handful of games. 10 games doesn't wash away 3 years.

Now, if it's a whole year of a sample size... that would be much, much more accurate telling.

This is what I love about sports and life in general. Two people can see the exact same thing and have two totally different opinions of what they saw.
I've watched and played ball my whole life and still do, coached for 5 years, reffed city league for 5 years, I have worked over 1,500 live NBA games. I watched all 700 plus games that LA played as a Trail Blazer. I saw and saved every scoring or defensive play for our trailblazers that EVER happened over the last 15 years from at least 8-10 different camera angles. Actually interact with NBA officials to change the outcome of games. Constantly talk shop with scouts GMs and coaches from our team and around the NBA. YOU do the math, those are my credentials that lead to my opinions. I love it when people call me out for not knowing what I'm talking about.
Not saying you were, just thinking about all the peeps on here who don't like me cause I come on here and put people on blast, and claim I don't know hoops. Accept my opinion or not, that's on you. But I promise you we are NOT better off with LA gone.

Things will work themselves out. Love Dame, but thats a heavy load to carry on his back. I promise you he would rather have another player on our roster that would demand a double team. We simply don't have that.

Just because your ipod is full of music doesn't mean you're a rap star.

or to put it a way you'll understand...

Just because your pinata is full of candy doesn't mean it's a party.

May not make me a rap star, but I DAMN sure know how the music is made!

We ABSOLUTELY are "better off" without LMA. We might not be better, but we're certainly better off because that punk ass bitch isn't able to take a team further than the first round. Building a team around a pansy-ass PF is a recipe for mediocrity.
If we were somehow able to make all the off-season acquisitions that we made, while retaining everyone except LMA (that means healthy Wes, and Nic, and Rolo) we'd be a MUCH better team. The "loss" of LMA is only a small reason for why we're a worse team (W/L-wise) than we were last season.

First off, you said we aren't "better" but we are ,in all caps, "ABSOLUTELY" "better off"? This concept will need to be explained to me. We lost one of the best PFs in the game, please explain.

Secondly, did you just type "IF" we were able to make moves? What the hell is that? "IF"?!?

"Punk-Ass Bitch/Pansy-Ass" terms to describe an perennial allstar, is just ridiculous. Be upset at him for leaving, but calling him names doesn't really add anything to this discussion. The loss of LA weakened us as a team and it will slowly show more and more as the season wears on. Those stretches of 5 games in 8 nights will grind, and will drastically take it's toll on our guys. The lack of talent will be magnified as these injuries mount up.

It's amazing that you have all those credentials and still don't know what. You're talking about. You overreact to personnel moves. You said Heat would go 75-7 after they signed LeBron and Bosh. They didn't even win 60 and lost in the Finals. After our excellent offseason, you said we'd only win 15-20 games which is wrong and a huge slap in the face to Lillard and McCollum. You also said it would be harder for Lillard to score without Aldridge, but he's actually doing better without Aldridge across the board. More points, more assists, better shooting percentage. For all of your experience and contacts, it's truly amazing how little you know. It's shocking.

CJ is the 3rd highest scoring SG in the NBA.

With Aldridge, we closed the season 22-27. We weren't that great and we were getting worse. Last year's team could just have well started 4-6 with this schedule we've had. The team we have now is better. Sometimes, there is addition with substraction. Plus, you seem to ignore all of the moves Olshey made to make us better. It's not like we dropped a bunch of players and didn't add any.

Girls! Girls! You're both pretty!

Did you just type the word "excellent" when talking about our past offseason?

I said we would win 23 games. There you go again saying I said something I didn't.

It has been harder for him to score without LA. At this pace he will be wiped out by all star break. He is working ALOT harder than in the past to get those shots up. Not having guys having to sag down and help on LA has allowed the defense to stay up on him tighter. He's scoring, but his shots this season aren't as easy. Much more contested. Not sure he can keep up carrying this team the way he has.

Thats interesting you think its amazing and shocking I know so little about the game. I think I post quality comments about the game and our team.

And if you want to get into predictions, you still haven't got back to me about your change of heart. Last night or the night before you said in a post we won't necessarily win as many as last season, yet in the prediction thread you shouted me down about how wrong I was and claimed we'd win 55! Care to explain your change of heart?

I thought we lost those games down the stretch because of injuries to a few key guys. Maybe I was wrong.
