Now first off, congrats on completing the marathon today.
That said, are you just saying this out for straight up BLIND allegiance? Just asking.
Have you watched the Wolves this season? I've seen 2 of their games and they look damn nice. Their offense is clicking and they have a pretty solid bench and rotation. We have NO chance to win this game tomorrow if you really step back and look at the matchups. I hope we do, but I don't believe we have a chance. I'm not trying to mess with you, I just would like to hear why you think we will "win big"?

I don't care if the T-wolves win a championship, they will always be a team that I think sucks and we should beat. I feel the same way about the Clippers, they suck.

What am I missing? Seriously. We dropped huge points on Clippers and Warriors in preseason and people said "it was just preseason." Tonight, in REGULAR SEASON, we dropped 108 points on Utah which is supposed to have the best defense of all time. Blazers get back to back road wins on other teams' home openers. We're a GOOD TEAM. And yet, still I hear "we'll win 30-35 games" and "we only have two scorers" and "we'll struggle to score," etc etc.

And you get a hyperbole, and you get a hyperbole, EVERYONE GETS A HYPERBOLE!
 
I will say I think we are better at 4 of the 5 spots this year.

Dame is better this year
Having CJ in there at the end of games when teams press Dame is better than having Wes in there. It takes the pressure off of Dame.
Harkless and Aminu attacking the basket is better than having Nic.....not attacking the basket. Plus they are at least equal on the boards. (maybe better?)
Plumlee's lateral quickness is better than RoLo's. He is a better rebounder and more versatile. The free throw shooting is a huge problem, but still we are better off

LMA was better.......no argument. But at the end of games having Aminu's D.......we won't notice.

The bench favors this year as well. Having said that I still think we will not come close to as many wins as last year, but I think we are better off in the long run.

Really excited at how we finished tonight.

You didn't hear? The advanced stats after the All Star break last season said they had the best defense of all time, or like one of the top 3.

DING DING DING. The long run! Not 5 games, THE LONG RUN. I've said it all along... 3 years from now this team could really contend. And not LMA contend. Actually contend. THAT gets me really excited. I'm excited for right now, the win tonight, but knowing we actually have a team that potentially could do something good in the next few years... that's amazing.

And we have the leader to do it with, Dame.

So... for not an entire season? Wow, such a letdown. And on top of that, LAST season.

I mean, at least lets have a little bit of foreplay before you send me back out without any nookie.
 
I projected the wins and losses for every game this year based on my projection of 32 total wins.

At this point we had a record of 3-2; although with a win at home over Phoenix and losing tonight.

So we're right on pace for 32 wins. Our schedule is very easy these first 8 games.

I'm real excited for the year though, but no not getting unreasonable expectations based off one win.

It'll be funny seeing this told you so thread bumped after every win and someone elses told you so thread bumped after every loss.

I'm right there with you. Virtually the same prediction.
 
I'm not basing my expectations on 1 win. I'm basing it on the team itself. We're a better team, top to bottom, this year. What will our final record be? Who knows? A lot of variables. But the team is clearly better. How am I one of the only people who can see that?

Because the issue for me is that we're going to see more games like the one in Phoenix. We're young. We're inexperienced. There's going to be ups and there's going to be downs. We go on big runs because we have a lot of talent, but we'll go on long droughts and the veteran teams will be able to chip away. The team is going to lean a lot on Dame and CJ to create points.

Okay. First, we always lose to Phoenix. Second, Lillard is a real leader who can keep the team focused and get the win. Every good NBA team has two superstars they "lean a lot on" to create points. How are we different?

I love your enthusiasm, and I also appreciate those who call themselves "realists". It is pretty easy for me to see both angles. I fall somewhere in the middle. I personally don't think we are a better team this year. I do like our components better though, and think we could and probably will be better than last year's team in the future. We have a great solid base with a lot to build on. I am happy with that. It is going to take a year or two for this team to truly get comfortable with eachother though. A true contender has a group that always knows where the other players are, where they are going, their tendencies, where they thrive with the ball, their limitations, when and where not to pass to a teammate. And our team is still figuring that stuff out. But we have a lot of young talent, and I believe that they will get there. It seems like we actually have a fairly intellectual group of guys right now. Add a couple more pieces this offseason and give some time and space for the players to learn, grow, and gel together and the sky is the limit. With that said, keep being who you are. I love reading the positivity.

You're obviously underestimating your immense basketball knowledge, that the rest of us can only hope to understand one day.

It's not your fault. You've tried to tell us, daily, how much smarter you are than the rest of us, but we just didn't listen.

Having you here, sharing, no gracing the rest of us with your basketball IQ truly makes this forum better, in every way.
