I think everything just came to a head. I never liked the new design. The site was often slow as a result of it. So much needless crap they tried to add. Too much regulation, case in point the filtering of PMs. Eventually enough people dropped off that it became a ghost town, and people sought out the new party.

There is a lot that went into people leaving BBF including multiple people being banned at BBF. It started in the OT forum at BBF. IMO some of the BBF mods went way to far and pissed many long time posters off. I will let other people that were closer to the problem explain it better but it seems like most if not all the BBF posters have made the switch over to S2. S2 has many things better then BBF: faster load times, free avatars and better mods plus more IMO. I have a feeling we will have a hard time finding a better forum for the Blazers fans then S2.:wub:

Man, I wandered over to the old place for the first time in a while. Kind of sad. Reminds me of the ex-girlfriend I had who got strung out on heroine and turned to prostitution. She used to be so beautiful.

I tried to just wait it out and see if people would come back to the other board. But now I'm here. It's nice to see familiar names that I haven't seen in awhile, and I look forward to getting use to the newer names. (Well I guess technically the senior names.. well.. you know what I mean.)

someone started a BBF thread titled "i think this forum is officially done" this morning and the good news of S2 started to spread like wildfire.
 
we told them if they didnt pull their heads out of their asses the community would leave, and we did. BBF was on a slow spiral into shitness since verticalscope took over BBB and made it into a hotspot for sparkled cursors and emoticons for 5yr olds... they let us do our thing and we thrived and were the biggest team forum there in the end, then they had to come in and get all admin on people who are well respected in our community and banning over trivial bs.

that combined with a laker fanboy mod starting many topics in the forum pushed most people over the edge. I'd been there since 2002 but i was never there for site/board/admins etc , i was there for our community - it moved - i moved - that board died. simple :)

now onto the brighter side!

less ads, you dont need to give them money to get a proper avatar!, swearing, and also (so far) cool admin team!

glad to see a few more of you have made it over :)

we've got our sights on being the #1 forum on S2 ASAP so lets get to posting about what all really care about, BLAZERS BASKETBALL BABY!!!!!

Ah, yes. I just checked BBF (for the first time, I must admit, in a couple of weeks) and saw the thread.

I also saw furball talking shit about S2 turning in a "Zidane" vibe... furball will still be welcome here, but I don't really know what he's talking about :)

Welcome to all the new refugees from BBF and I even see a few names on the active users list that have created an account but haven't posted yet. Glad to see so many new members today. It looks like we have almost doubled our posters in just a few hours today.:drumroll:

I had to look up the word "onanistic", but I'm glad I did. I thought you were being a wanker, but it turns out you were just lubing your discourse with slippery self-gratifying jerk of the ol' vocabulary. Glad I didn't take offense too quickly, or the consequential blowup could have shot all over my face.
