The Clash said it best. Should I stay or should I go.

Joe has said he plans to make a splash this off season to build around Dame.

So who do you think should go in a trade for an All-Star?

Who do you think will go?

I hope they keep Thybulle and Sharpe. I also like Reddish. That being said our other “assets” won’t bring shit. We do have 2 picks this year to trade, so there is that

I think just to make the salaries work it will be Ant and Nurk as the base of what's outgoing with a bunch of draft assets to get a bonafide second star.

I like Thybulle, I like Dame and I like Sharpe.

I won't be upset if Reddish stays.

And I won't be that sad if Simons is traded for an upgrade (but also won't be sad if he stays).

The rest I don't really care much about.

That's a pretty great summary of how I feel. I also would love to keep Jerami Grant! Just you know, the one from the first 25 games where he actually cared!

Ant, Nas, Nurk, Keon, Eubanks, Watford, Butler can all go and if his foot is really fucked, Winslow too. Grant we should get a discount for the extra year but I'd keep him, Thybulle, Reddish, Dame but that's about it. The guy from Senegal I have no idea about. Ryan is a deccent 3rd string pt guard.

Problem is most teams with a star probably won't want our players. There will be other teams with better deals.

But what are we getting for that?

What about Sharpe?!

Keep: Dame, Sharpe, Thybulle.
Like to keep: Reddish-seeing possibilities
Too much money: Grant
Like to see gone: Ant, Nurk
Wouldn’t mind keeping: Walker, Watford, Eubanks
Anyone else is don’t care-just as soon they were gone.

On fence: Billups-hasn’t shown me anything but hasn’t really had much with which to work. Think there are better options.

Honestly, Lillard should be available if the price is right. My faith in Cronin being able to pull off a blockbuster that makes us a contender is basically nil.

Our best bet at building a championship core might be through the draft organically.

Blazers only have 7 players under contract this summer: Dame, Ant, Nurk, Sharpe, Little, Watford, Walker. That's not a good collection of tradable contracts. I think that's especially true if you consider Nurkic to have negative value compared to his salary and injury history, which I do. With Dame off the table, that leaves Ant & Little

never thought I’d get here but it’s best for the blazers if Lillard gets a ‘ship. So I’m here.

We keep…

Dame
Sharpe
Thybulle
Reddish
Watford, Walker, Keon(cheap bench contracts)

We Trade…
Ant
Nurk
Little

We let walk…
Grant
Winslow
Eubanks

That leaves 7 guys on the roster and 2, maybe 3(Sharpe) starters plus what we get in the draft and what we get for the “We trade” guys above.

My question is if we let Grant, Winslow, and Eubanks walk and only resign Thybulle what is our cap situation hypothetically?

If we get our lotto pick and Chicago takes the Knicks pick we would have 4FRPs and 3 swaps and that's if we keep our lotto pick we could pick for another team and that would mean being able to send out 5FRPs and 3 swaps.

I’ll tell you right now though if we win the lottery and had 19 year olds sharpe/Wemby to build around I might do Dame a solid and ship him to a contender for 5 1s and a young potential star to team with Sharpe/Wemby.

Portland has way to many players under contract to keep any of the new Blazers and resign Grant without nudging towards luxury tax. Cronin will have to find a new home for somebody else to make room for Cam/Thybulle or Knox

If the goal is to destroy the fan base and put the franchise in a position where they need to relocate this is how you do it.

Teams as bad as the Blazers are not supposed to go all in. It makes absolutely no sense and is completely out of touch with reality.

When a franchise is looking to sell they cut costs and acquire young players with potential. What they don’t do is mortgage the next decade right before passing to new ownership.

Do people think:

1) The Blazers are going to let Grant walk for nothing?
2) Letting Grant walk for nothing sets the team up for success?

This seems like another one of those talking points that is gaining traction despite having a very very very low probability of happening (for good reason).
