Soccer ain't his game, he should do shot put
That was incredibly disturbing.
What's the big deal? Is this another thing I've got to live in Portland to understand or be sympathetic of?
I would say that Portland treats dogs the same or better than people. Even the homeless have them.
Based on the description of the video, you'd think he was torturing the dog, but the guy just grabbed it and tried to throw it over the fence...
For me, it's not that he tossed the dog and that failed to clear the fence; it's the fact that picked the dog up, carried it, and threw it by its neck. The amount of force exerted on the animal's neck through that process is ridiculous. In my mind, that kind of action--on any animal--requires a reckless wanton disregard for the value of life. It would have bothered me just as much if it were a cat, a rabbit, an iguana, etc.
But crushing a spider to death or keeping a cow penned up for life to be slaughtered is ok?
I'm with voodoo on this, I love dogs, but humanity has bigger problems than hurting a dogs feelings
That said, cruel people are cruel, and fuck them
That's my point...
I love dogs... my dog died a little more than a year ago, and I'm not gonna lie, I broke down behind closed doors... she was part of the family, grew up with her, and treated her like a family member...
With that said though, the mentality around these parts (the southeast) is completely different when it comes to dogs. I'm not condoning it, but I will defend it. Animal abuse is one thing, but based on what I grew up seeing as animal abuse around these parts, that soccer player's handling of that dog is far from abuse. If I had a nickel for every dog I saw thrown, kicked, smacked, or otherwise told its parameters by physical means that I was still completely comfortable with, I'd be a wealthy man. At the end of the day, it's an animal, not a human being...

Yeah cause those are the exact same thing. I'd bet that most people who are ok with cattle being penned up wouldn't be ok with someone picking one up (with a crane or something) and tossing it around.
At the end of the day, what's the difference?
The dog in this comparison gets to live as does the cow being picked up by a crane. The spider and cow going to slaughter do not. While I am not a fan of animal abuse, I do know where my food comes from and it is not pretty.
Feel free to discuss god, just saying I didnt get in a tizzy, an opposing viewpoint if you will
And yeah nik, people get shot in the head everyday, rarely does it go viral with outrage
rarely do you see actual footage of people getting shot in the head.
Please move to OT
Why? Can't we turn this into a ZBo thread instead?

So you treat your dog as a family member but it's OK to pick up a dog and throw it by the neck as hard as you can. Would love to come to one of your family events.![]()
