OT Sounds like we could get some snow later this week with some possible freezing rain

Welcome to our community

Eating rats, crickets, snakes, grubs, whatever with wings (that’s not an airplane) and legs (that’s not a table or chair). Smoking whatever shit the elders smoke. I didn’t get quite as fat as this boy, though.

When and if @EL PRESIDENTE has kids, this is totally what they will look like, girl OR boy!

I have to be at work tomorrow at 1 and returning around 11....... Glad I have AWD on the whip!

KPTV just said we're looking at a lot more snow AND 3/4" of ice on the powerlines. We had storms like that when I was a kid. We twice lost power for 5 days. I remember my parents setting up our camping gear in the living room.

I'm on the other side of mt. Tabor -the Montavilla side. Great walking neighborhoods though.

You my friend are awfully close to the Mac'D in town on 99. If you haven't been, I highly suggest the probably 5 minute drive for you.
south side of tabor here, near 60th and Division area.
Insert joke about being in between you two here:

Aaaaah the good ol’ days........I grew up in a family heating business. My dad and my uncle had my brothers and I hauling heating oil as soon as we turned 16 (we didn’t need to be 18 or have no steeenking chauffeur’s license when our name was on the truck....or so we were told). During weather like this (it seemed like an annual occurrence) they’d pull us out of school and get us on the road pretty much round the clock. After a few trips, we’d crawl into our sleeping bags on the office floor for an hour or two, then they’d get us back up, give us a shot of Old Crow (cheap bastards) and send us back out. It was the only way to keep up with the demand for heating oil.....and we were much cheaper than their union drivers. It’s weather like this that makes me more grateful than ever to be retired..........

Ah, memories....imagine doing that now!?

Of course, the new owners would probably be a little upset, but screw em!

I drove through the neighborhood where I grew up about a year ago, the current owner of my parents old house was out front so I stopped and talked to him. He gave me a tour of the house and I told him about the secret room upstairs in the house that was blocked off by a renovation that was done in the 1940s. I remember when my dad found it by accident.

It's where we found all the bodies...

Oddly enough, I had a dream about my grandparents house, thinking it was for sale. When it was sold, (20+ years ago) it was sold for like 120K, and I thought that's what it was for sale for.

So I thought "shit, I should buy it!"

then I realized it was a dream and I was remembering the price from 20+ years ago.

New owners changed the color of the house to grey and mustard yellow. Hideous.

I have lived on either side of tabor. Both on 60th and Division and on the Northside on Stark and 92nd

I'm prepared. Got a battery operated lantern and a flashlight set. Have a pup tent and sleeping bags in the closet...can bring them out and set them up in the living room if the lights go out. Plenty of bottled water and non perishable foods.

Hopefully, the lights don't go out again. Making stew tonight.

It was very very hard work but I have completed our storm preparations for in case there is a hard freeze and we lose electricity...

I have found a list of dog friendly hotels in downtown Portland. We can uber or trimet to downtown

Trimet will be shut down, and the only ubers available will be driven by cannibals looking for meat.

probably not "dog meat" though...there is far more to choose from on the streets that's fattened by something other than Purina chow

Crazy thing is, we are up on the Alameda ridge. Because we are up here, the wind from the gorge/river just drills us from the backside like I do most of your sisters!
You have permission to drill all of my sisters since I have none. I had a brother though, do you want him? Of course he might be a bit moldy since he's been dead for 16 years. How about my mother? She's only been dead for 7 years.
My wife? Not unless you're into gerontophilia.
Me? I've never heard of anyone that hard up.

Lanny, you give HCP too much credit. He has no idea what gerontophilia is. He thinks it's where the 76ers play.

774 feet in Lake Oswego. Worked early and ahead so I can take tomorrow off, along with my normal weekend. Haven't seen much other than some strong gusts of wind and occasional rain/sleet.
Seems like you're near the top of upper Palisades. I'm also in upper Palisades but about 200 feet lower.

Botto's BBQ on SE Milwaukie off Powell.

Fucking awesome BBQ! And the mac n cheese is good too.

But it's the BBQ that will have you coming back.

I now have a new addiction to their burnt end brisket.

If you like Texas BBQ try the Busters in Tigard. It's on Barbur just East of the Fred Meyer. Their brisket, beef ribs, baby back ribs, BBQ beans and french fries are excellent. Ask for lots of bark on your brisket and ask them to fry your french fries extra long so their golden and delicious.

Mountain Park neighborhood! Just moved here a few weeks ago from Argay/Parkrose.

I've eaten at Busters with you.

And I'm telling you, Botto's kicks it's ass.

When all this covid stuff is over I'll bring some over to you and Tammy.

You're near my kid's school (91st and Davis)

I'm about 2 miles NE of you.

Well, there's BBQ, and there's barbeque...

I think Busters is BBQ. Meaning that it's good, but it's like "I use propane when I bbq" good, vs "I use charcoal when I barbeque, make my own marinade, and converted my shed to a smoker" good.

Columbia Christian?
Used to be a small college. My sister moved out here to be the head athletic trainer at the college 20 years ago.
