Chicago Tribune -
Sources that spoke with Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune, say Jermaine O'Neal already has told the Pacers he wants to be traded to the Knicks and former Pacers coach and close friend Isiah Thomas. </div>

Yep!!! I told you all

WHAT? I thought a player like Jermaine would want to win...

haha jk. dont get mad.

I dont get it. Isiah is one of the worst coaches and GM's in the league. Jermaine just wants to go to New York because he's friends with Thomas? That sounds kinda stupid and i dont know if i believe this rumor. If I'm Indiana i would never do this trade, unless their goal is to tank next season and hopefully get OJ Mayo or something. Indiana has tradable pieces and they can get a lot better than what New York would offer.

You can't knock Isaih's drafts though.
This rumor seems farfetched I'm going to wait to see it confirmed

I don't really believe the Knicks have much to offer that the Pacers would be interested in.

What are the Pacers interested in?

I was messing around with the trade checker and found that

Malik Rose
Quentin Richardson
David Lee
Channing Frye

for

Jermaine O'Neal

works out fine. I think that's a pretty good trade. Of course there mioght be some minor tweaks such as second round picks or expendable rookies and/or young players.

Hell Yeah!! I want to keep David Lee though and have Jermaine play center.

There's no one on the Pacers roster Isiah would trade for other than Jermaine O'Neal.

they said that we would have to include our pick which we going to get from the bulls.

Doesn't really matter... who in this draft after 4 or so has the potential to be better than O'Neal?

<div class="quote_poster">phunDamentalz Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Hell Yeah!! I want to keep David Lee though and have Jermaine play center.</div>

David Lee has to go IMO. A Channing Frye, Malik Rose, and Quentin Richardson package isn't attractive by all means

I can see Curry jacking up 3's and O'neal cleaning them up.

Don't get too excited there Knicks fans, its just a rumor. Guarantee O'Neal comes out tomorrow denying it. That's how these things play out.

I would Offer Francis.Jeffries,Richardson,Frye or draft picks
That can put the Pacers on the map

No way in hell the Pacers make that trade. They would be taking back way too much salary. Francis gets paid 15 million a year with 3 years remaining on his contract. Quentin Richardson gets paid 6 million a year with 3 years remaining on his contract. Jared Jeffries gets paid 5 million a year with 3 years left on his contract. No way in the hell the Pacers take on three over-paid players in return for Jermaine O'Neal.

He's good friends with Coach Thomas

Out of all the crappy places to live in the U.S., he chooses one of the decent ones.......

Jermaine O'Neal Did NOT Ask for a Trade

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
Jermaine O'Neal said in an interview Wednesday that he has spoken with Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh once since the season ended, but trade talk never entered the conversation. He said there is nothing to reports that he's pushing to be reunited with his old coach Isiah Thomas at the New York Knicks .

"That's just somebody that's putting out speculation," O'Neal told The Associated Press. "That didn't come from the Pacers, and that didn't come from me."

O'Neal was close to Thomas when he coached the Pacers, before he was fired four years ago in favour of Carlisle. O'Neal acknowledges that he could be traded but denied a Chicago Tribune report that he had made such a request.

"They gave me the opportunity to build my name and status in this league," O'Neal said of the Pacers. "It's disrespectful to them to be commenting about it. I haven't made any demands or anything like that.

"There's not going to be anymore speculation," he said. "It's all going to be false speculation. I'm going to let the process take its course.</div>

Wow, Blur was right

why would he want to play for the knicks? not trying to be rude to you knicks fans but be realistic, NO ONE wants to play with the knicks.

Like I said...This is absolute rubbish

You can't take any side seriously. If Jermaine really does want out, he's not going to publicly demand a trade like Artest. All players say "I love it here in [insert city]. This organization has been great to me, etc."

Isiah Thomas and Jermaine are actually very close. In fact, when Jermaine was a free agent a couple of years ago, he said the only way he will re-sign with Indiana is if Isiah gets an extension as head coach. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Pacers lied to him and signed Rick Carlisle after they signed Jermaine O'Neal. But like I said, they are pretty close and even in an interview Isiah said Jermaine was like a son to him, or something of that nature. I'm not saying this rumor is likely to happen but it is a rumor which has some substance to it.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AKIRA:</div><div class="quote_post">why would he want to play for the knicks? not trying to be rude to you knicks fans but be realistic, NO ONE wants to play with the knicks.</div>
New York is considered the mecca of basketball and it's also a great place to live. The Knicks aren't a bad team either. They could have very well been in the playoffs if they weren't decimated by injuries. No one wants to play for the Knicks? That's funny since Chris Webber said he wants to play for the Knicks.

Also Starbury said that he didn't want to get traded from the knicks when he came on the team.

And just like that,
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Warriors' Stephen Jackson, former teammates with Jermaine O'Neal of the Pacers, told the media he thinks O'Neal wants to be traded.

"I don't think he has any patience (left), but Jermaine is the ultimate professional," said Jackson.

Whether O'Neal has demanded or requested a trade in his discussions with Pacers management may simply be a matter of semantics. Los Angeles and New York are thought to be the 6-11 All-Star's preferred destinations.

"I talked to him a while back, and he was saying that if he did get traded he would want to go to those two teams," Jackson said. "Isiah and Jermaine are good friends. If it does happen, look out East. Him and (Eddy) Curry in the paint are going to be a monster. But him and Kobe will be a monster, too."

Playing in NY, in MSG is a huge reason why players want to play with the Knicks.
