For the record, the "enough is enough" thing was for real. That didn't make us contenders. It was just a turning point where the team stopped being pathetic and started to play their best but I hardly think or thought that their best would be good enough to make noise in the playoffs. Let's hope I'm wrong.
I just picked up red T shirts I had made for me and Chris that say "Enough is Enough" on them with a 0 on the back.

This is the first season in a while where I'm not really expecting or even hoping much that we get out of the first round. Portland is playing well, but when I look at the teams ahead of us I don't see any we can beat. The Clippers are a matchup nightmare for us, Jokic is having an MVP year in Denver, Utah's just got a damned well-constructed roster with loads of shooting, and TBH the back court of Chris Paul/Booker is better than Dame/CJ, just because the pieces fit so much better.

Still, every day people risk all sorts of venereal diseases for the joy of a nice fling. It's a fling, but flings can be fun in their own right. We're on a nice run and we all should be happy about it.

Don't get too attached, wear a condom and use a fake name and we'll all be fine. :)

Nope. We'll beat Utah and it'll be "Donovan Mitchell didn't play," we beat Suns and it'll be "Something is off with the Suns," and we beat Denver and it's "They didn't play Jokic and we almost lost to them (when we actually won by 15)." There are people here who don't give the team credit no matter what they do. NateB has in fact said that we don't have a win to hang our hat on. blazerkor said if we beat the Celtics, we were for real, but then he backed off that take.
It's not like those people dont have a case, even if you disagree with it. We havent beaten a top-10 team who wasn't missing an all-star in almost three months. We wont get that luxury in the playoffs.

With Dallas' loss tonight, Portland has the best record in the West over the last 10 games, and tied with Philly for best in the league.

Fool's gold or not, there's something intrinsically wrong with "fans" who can't simply sit back and enjoy a bit of prosperity.

How many times do you have to get kicked in the nuts before you decide to put on a cup for protection? That's how I look at this, yes I'm excited but at this point the Groundhog Day seasons have me putting on that cup around my heart for protection because I know how this is going to end.

I have a tendency to agree with this.
Doesn't matter in the NBA when you start talking about winning a bunch of games in a row or even a large portion of games over a long period. A team has to be playing well to do that. Sure there are easier portions of schedule than others but the Blazers did this during a tough road trip and through some pretty good teams.

Bracing yourself for a letdown, while being excited by the current play, does not qualify you as the group I was referring to.

The team is playing much better and has players right now that were not playing three months ago? I also wonder how you know who will be playing in the playoffs?

I can agree with this. I get mad at the team when I see the effort is not there, but right now they are balling and it's all I want. I just want to see them play hard, tough, and that don't give a fuck attitude. There are no partial victories, just have to seize the day. The Blazers control their own destiny and that is what truly matters.

We are about to find out how real the Blazers are this last stretch. Blazers are a combined 0-6 against their last three opponents. Gotta keep winning to stay out of the play - in.

We should lose all 3 of these games, you are using THEM to tell you how real the team is?

In the words of Roco's last interview....when we lost early we were playing different people who aren't here now....it's an unfair comparison of where the team is now and what the team is like as Nurk, Norm and Roco, etc...build some chemistry...CJ and Nurk shake rust from not playing for long stretches and Dame got some rest after carrying us early......when asked if Stotts was the problem Roco said....absolutely not. We're gelling at the perfect time and getting healthy at the perfect time...I like our chances and have really enjoyed this stretch of ball with Norm on the team and Nurk back. Playoffs are a one game at a time experience...predicting failure is not how I approach the post season...I hope we make some serious noise. We could beat anybody the way we're playing.

I'm not predicting failure. I predicted the Blazers would finish the season 11-3 after their bad stretch. So far I am pretty close to being right.

I have enjoyed this last stretch of winning by the Blazers. I hope it continues. The Blazers need it going into the playoffs. The Blazers can win these games. I want to see that happen. I'm saying we are about to find out how good that chemistry you're speaking of really is. The Blazers have so far passed the test down the stretch. This is the Grand finale.

that streak is actually up to 7 games and 6 wins now

if my math is right

32 points
5 rebounds
8.5 assists

55% FG's
53% on three's (on 10.2 attempts/game)
95% on FT's

this is the main reason I'm still a little skeptical about how solid Portland's 8-1 streak is. To be sure, Nurkic is playing better and the Blazers appear to be in the best offensive groove of the season. But this stretch has all the earmarks of the Dame-fueled winning streaks we've seen so often before. Can Portland survive a bad night by Dame against a good team? Their DNA over the last 6 years has been they can't. Maybe it's different now; and maybe Dame will stay hot for 25 more games or so (can't be perfect at 19 games)

Why not? People are injured in playoffs too. How did Lakers beat Heat in Finals? Dragic and Bam were out. Raptors won because KD was out.

All those teams beat healthy top 10 teams in the playoffs though.
