The FT part is depressing as hell, I don't think its going to get better.

But I do think the Nets will keep up their shooting. The attention Devin and Carter draw opens up a lot of shots.

Great analysis, Dumpy. I think the point about offensive rebounds is especially well taken because it's been really obvious to me as a viewer without paying attention to numbers or counting in the least. My impression is that a lot of it correlates to increased minutes and starting role for Brook. He not only gets a lot of second chance possessions himself but keeps balls alive and generally consumes space in such a way that teammates are getting some offensive rebounds they might not otherwise.

Even though the numbers are not necessarily showing it, I do think their team defense has improved in the last few games. It's now often taking 3-4 passes to get a good shot instead of 2-3.

HAving a big like brook makes it soooo much easier to score for our entire team. THey dump it down low, he either makes a strong post move or passes it out or to a cutter. He's an excellent passer and teams are starting to collapse on him a bit making our perimeter wide open, hence why our % from 3 is soo much higher then we'r used to seeing. It's amazing what having a legitmate big man can do for spacing.

I think the spacing has a lot to do with having legitimate shooters. That is something we never had before.

I'm pretty impressed at the way the Nets are playing this season. Surely we're only 6-6, but my expectations were far lower for this season. I thought things were going to be much worse. With that said, it's only been 12 games, so there's still much time to fall into suckage.

Personally, I prefer traditional pass-first point guards, but I'm starting to really like Devin Harris. His game is starting to reflect that of Tony Parker and Allen Iverson. Definitely fun to watch.

And Carter is doing well, himself. Everyone knows I'm not a fan of his, but I do hope he continues to play at the same pace all season.

–Also, over the last five games the Nets have tied for the highest PPG average in the league, at 111.4 (tied with Golden State).
