Status Quo...

I would pay to get Chauncey Billups as General Manager instead of this useless pice of shit Olshey. Billups knows how to build a team

We don’t know if Billios would be a good gm or not, I don’t think he’s ever done it has he?
No. But he said he want's to become a General Manager in the NBA and create a Championship roster one day. I'll take him in a heartbeat. Billups has a good standing around the League and is a Champion. He would build a roster for the Playoffs and not for RS

I like Billups and he might be a good gm, he might not.

"LeBron has been at minimum a +11 wins in his first season on new team." Giving L@kers maybe 45-46 wins, assuming they mesh and assuming Ball comes back healthy.

"Carmelo was an addition by subtraction, plus all nba defender Roberson was injured last year." Major assumptions. Not clear if Anthony was the only problem and assuming great health from Roberson

"TWolves were 3rd seed until Butler got injured." And they have been fighting in the media about motivation and team issues.

"DeRozen, LA and Popovic better than Dame, CJ, and Stotts." Who plays defense for that team now? Assumptions that +DeRozan is similar to or better than -Leonard,Parker and Ginobili.

"Having Gobert healthy all year is better than status quo." If Olshey's biggest accomplishment over the summer was getting a player healthy you could consider that above the status quo?

I don't disagree with much of what you say, it's just that you are placing other teams in the best light and Blazers in the worst light in a way that is less than fully realistic.

I'm not saying I love the team as is. We still need another star or two half stars. A lot of my faith is one one of our young talents. I really wish we could trade CJ for a two-way player. But, I don't think we took a giant step back either. The only teams that I see took a big step forward over the summer are Warriors and L@kers (a giant step up from a very low step). Everyone else is in the mix the same as the Blazers are. A lot depends on chemistry and development and coaching over the next year.

I never have been. Does that make my opinion less valid

No, not at all. I think it can change it though. Mine did.

Spending money and all the time it takes to go to games makes me want to be competitive night in and night out. If they went into the tank I would stop paying. I think the team can “let it bake” and still have a shot to make a move for the next 3-5 years.

I think the odds are in his favor. He seems smart and knows the game and players, but to just say he will be a good GM is more crazy talk.

Just like saying NO hasn't done anything and is bringing the same team back is crazy talk. lol.

No disrespect to Ed, but he's no Wes Matthews. Compared to Wes, Ed was like having arrhythmia.
We aren’t talking about Wes though......We are talking about Zach/Caleb TRYING to replace what he brought.

Dude, at least make fucking sense when you rip someone. Olshey has built some solid teams, Billups has never been a GM. So to say Billups knows how to build a team is completely stupid and takes away any credibility you have.

Say something like you'd rather risk that Billups would know what to do than keep Olshey.

Let me ask you a question...

How do you know that Olshey didn't talk to his agent and his agent said he wouldn't show up to play for Portland? It's looking like he's not going to show up for Toronto, maybe they are the only ones dumb enough to still do it.
Hopefully he doesn't show up for them and we can get him for a song now... if he agrees to show up, that is...

And I'm just saying that it's not that irreplaceable. I don't think Zach/Caleb will be the "heart" of the team, but someone will. Or nobody will - doesn't really matter, because that "heart" was barely limping along.

I know it’s by committee, but you don’t think Caleb, Zach and Meyers will fill the void?

I already see Zach as a better overall defender.
The one thing Caleb does really well is rebound, so he has that covered for Ed’s loss.
And then we have Meyers......maybe, just maybe, we can get 18-20 minutes and have him give us 12/5.

Oh.
Wanna buy my jersey?

Yeah... I'll admit, I don't spend as much as some here do. @KingSpeed goes on the road with the team. Fuck, that's gotta be some cool shit. Don't think I'll ever be able to afford that. But bottom line, I'm a basketball junkie. I NEED to play, coach, ref, BE basketball. My son and I beat my best friend and his son 2 on 2 and I was euphoric! (they're much better than us)

It makes me high.

That said, I don't think my opinion holds any less value but monetarily, it isn't worth as much to the team.

I totally agree that your opinion in no less worthy then someone who spends $ to support the team. My point was only that doing so, spending money, can change your point of view.

You sir should ready yourself for a great letdown. Ed was the heart and soul of this team ON and OFF the court. Stats don’t show true value sometimes.
I understand that but I'm trying to look at the bright side. Meyers and Caleb didn't play at all last year, they'd at least be given a chance

Dude, that is depressing af. Meyers and Caleb?!? I'd think you were joking if it weren't for your painful earnestness. Way to just reiterate that we are fucked. Thanks.

Question for you guys (especially @Gronk Brady):

Should Dame have any say or be consulted in any way on the makeup of the roster and trades?

Should any player have a say in those decisions (LeBron included) or do you believe they should never be consulted? Are you saying no because you want Dame to get mad and request a trade? Or do you just not care about his happiness since he is 28 and his career is almost over?

Abso-fucking-lutely.

(By the way, this inclusion of fucking, or any word for that matter, in between the syllables of another word is called tmesis. Just thought someone out there might find that interesting...)
