I wouldn't gasp for breath just because the word "indefinitely" is in there. They always say indefinitely when they don't know anything about the injury, and they make it sound like a 3 month injury. He'll be ok, I don't think he'll miss a boatload of time. He will miss some time, but nothing too crazy IMO.
