If the Pelicans are shopping all their guys except Zion, how much would you be willing to give up for Trey Murphy? I would make a deal with the devil, as long as Deni, Tou, DC and Shaedon are off the table. I think he immediately pushes Sharpe as a starter and/or could be a perennial SMOY candidate. It would take a lot, but would be worth it IMO.

Ant + 11? I would keep Scoot off the table.

Kind of a forgotten guy (at least from what little his name gets mentioned) I wonder what OKC would want for Nikola Topic. With their loaded roster and a lot of future frp's, would they be willing to move him? Do we have anything that might help with a need for them (do they have a need?)?

Yeah if I'm Joe, I am not sure I would be saying.....we've done it all together.
Yeah, I'm sure Joe Dumars after having a sterling reputation in this league for 40 years is worried people will make that implication. That's just a weak take whether it was meant to be comical or not.

I would love to get Topic, but he fills the need they have for backup PG as their offense stalls when SGA is out. Not saying he's untouchable, they would just need to have a decent replacement first.

What is Dumars supposed to say?

Zion sucks. We dont want him on our team. Fire sale.

So all the stupid ass jokes on this board and this one bothered you? I will certainly try to up my game for you.

So who are some of our big swing options? Obviously there's guys that get traded every year that nobody knew was readily available, so just spitballing on possibilities

Trae Young, Darius Garland, Jamal Murray, LaMelo Ball, Ja Morant if we wanna swap out Scoot for an established younger vet to have us take that next step

OG Anunoby, Jaylen Brown, Mikal Bridges, Desmond Bane, Michael Porter Jr.(probably not actually a big swing), Durant, for upgrades on the wings

Sabonis, Porzingis, KAT, Giannis, Gobert, Anthony Davis, Zion, Markannen for upgrades at the big positions.

Feel like a lot of these names have been picked apart plenty here. Am sure there's other big swing names I'm missing. Other swings I felt like could be more reasonable, like a Jabari Smith type of move, but probably doesn't qualify as a big swing necessarily.

Yeah I don't think we need a "big swing" type of move but Jabari Smith would be nice as both a more mobile big, who could start instead of Clingan and give teams another look and a backup forward.

Brooklyn has been in talks with Houston and Toronto to move Cam Johnson and the #19 pick to acquire another lottery pick. Conceivably they could be having convos with the Blazers since we're only one pick later than Houston. I could see this team moving off their pick to get a good shooter like Johnson and move back in the draft.

yeah, you may be right. Considering the Avdija trade, going after Johnson might be in Cronin's wheelhouse, especially considering it looks like the Blazers want to make a push for the playoffs. adding another 2nd/3rd tier starter might fit with the goals

at the same time, Johnson is already 29. He's only 2 years younger than Grant; 4 years older than Camara; 5 years older than Avdija; 7 years older than Sharpe. I was hot for Johnson when he was a Sun. I thought he was an underutilized potential star in the making. But he's been utilized in Brooklyn and he's plateaued below all-star level. He's a good shooter. More than half of his shots are three's and he shoot a solid percentage from deep. His .632 TS% is bordering on elite. He's not much of a rebounder but has improved his passing...going by his numbers

that's the thing though, I'm going by his numbers because I just haven't seen him play much since he went to the Nets. I'm curious if he's developed much of a dribble-drive game; if he can create his own offense. His 71% assisted FG rate says not really. So does the fact only 19% of his shots come at the rim. He did get to the line a lot more this season so maybe he's got some go-to moves

I don't like trading out of the lottery though; not for Johnson. I'd consider Simons + 11 for Johnson + 19 + 26 + future pick, but that's mainly about getting rid of Simons before Cronin re-signs him, not because of Johnson

I agree with you on Johnson. At 11 the Blazers can get someone better, cheaper, and younger. That player won't be better in year 1, but neither player will likely start over Tou or Deni anyway. The Blazers have time to let him develop.

#19 is too risky to think a player will drop to us. Very possible one might, but why chance it?

You never go full Durant.

Blazers need to stay far away from him.
