Gunner Trent strikes again
Someone (sorry, can't give credit, can't remember who) called him Machine Gun Trent (or something like that) the other day.

Made me LOL ;)

Baldwin is our Avery Bradley, go sign him up Neil.

Bradley is pretty damn effective on D. Love the guy. But I have to say that Baldwin may even be a better fit since he is a better ball handler....an so far in SL ...a slightly better 3 point shooter.

Funny thing is if we would have gotten AB as a free agent we would be phrasing Neil right now.

We get it. We're not using the correct phrasing.

I think you understand that everyone means they just want to keep him, no?
No, I think people really believe that he has an option that Olshey should've already picked up. That is not the case. By doing nothing Olshey is keeping him.

Yes until July 18.
He is signed for next season already. They can waive him by the 19th if they don't want him but as of right now he is on the team and under contract for next year there is no action needed to keep him.

I disagree. I think it's just easier to say "pick him up again Neil!" than say "Don't do anything Neil!"

No, it would be better to say "Olshey better not cut him" but to say "go sign him up" implies that person wants Olshey to guarantee his salary. It may be semantics to you but it's really fucking annoying.

And here's the problem with that...

It takes two teams to make a trade happen, and if Swanigan is as horrible as you say, what other team would want him? If your assessment of him is

accurate, he has negative trade value and I can't see the point of sacrificing another asset (player, draft pick, etc.) just to move a guy making the min salary with only one year guaranteed left on his deal. It would make more sense to bury him on the end of the bench, or in the G League than to pay another team to take him off our hands.

BNM
A lot of times you got a throw in player to make the trade work. Swanigan wouldn't be the main trade piece but to match salary he might be the one you throw in for that situation. Your right it takes two to tangle in a trade and it can also kill a trade too.

I checked, there wasn't one single post during the game in your game thread. That is kind of sad. I almost felt bad for you.
There would have been more, but I fell asleep and missed the damn game.

For now, yes. He has a bright future though.
Can’t argue, cause I have no clue. I just always go back to Qyntel......the guy looked like a 6’8 MJ out there every summer and it meant shit. Judging players in summer league good or bad, is just a waste of time in my opinion.

Totally agree. No one knows how he will turn out. But, the skillset he has displayed is undeniably intriguing.

To be fair, it's really fucking annoying to you. That's not some of our faults.
Completely agree, but some people are getting all pissy when I correct them or that I shouldn't say anything at all and I'm going to keep correcting those people.

Conversely, Batum's summer league looked like he would've been more comfortable standing in the middle of the road at night staring at headlights, than playin’ ball.

That said, I'm encouraged by what I see. MFs are passing the eye test.

Summer league games now are more competitive then there back then woods play. Plus our young players are doing really well against other rookies to 3 year guys that already playing on the NBA level.

I use Nic as example as much as I use Qyntel. You can’t use summer league play to predict how a player will play.
