give it a break....negative affirmations we've seen before too...every season...every game...which I find harder to enjoy than the game I just watched personally
Brokeback Cowboy Jade has seen this rodeo before. Even though he complains all the time, he can't quit this forum.

Really?

Grow up Tykendo. Don't be GobletPisser, or whatever his name is. You don't like an opinion; tough shit. There's 5 other people in this thread you can bitch about too.

Oh no, tears are falling.

WB4 has played well in this league. Many can make a case for him to be SLMVP.
He can defend at an NBA level, no question.
But I saw some of the same issues which has kept him off the floor last season.
In the first half I watched WB4 spot up in the corner for three. He got the ball late in the clock, wide open.
Instead of taking that shot, and living with the result.(which is clearly what Portland's offense is about)
He decided to drive to the paint and take a contested, fading away jumper. It was missed, Collins got the board and Portland scored.
I 100% can tell you the coaching staff has told WB4 he needs to be ready to shoot if he's open. Turning down wide open threes is going to get him benched.
If he makes that same play when Lillard or CJ kick it to him for a corner three... He's going to get benched, and rightfully so.
If Aminu has the green light, there is no reason why WB4 should be afraid of taking that shot.

I don't care about the turnovers, I don't care about the missed shots, or the overdriving.
WB4 must make the correct basketball play and take a wide open corner three. Not turn it down because you're concerned about missing.

I've seen this rodeo before. It's depressing.
ok dude....how you can find a 6th win in a row depressing is on you...I felt good about the win and as usual you have the doom and gloom and why even try? post to enforce MORE negative affirmations....I'm an adult....I didn't enjoy your take on the win...there were players who played well. They should be cheered from my view. Complaining constantly just gets old in a game thread....my 2 cents. You're free to continue but understand....it really doesn't add anything for many of us

Firstly, I wasn't responding to you. You didn't throw out childish insults. Which I appreciate.

I'm happy with this win. What I'm NOT happy with is how we played. And, in MY experience, how we play in games like this is a good determination of how we'll play in the regular season.

Not always, but it's usually a good indication.

I'm happy they won. I'm not happy with how they played. And I'm not pleased about what this COULD mean for our future (I guess time will tell on that).

So there you go. Perhaps I was a bit negative. But at least I explained it without insulting anyone.

Being a Blazer fan, I agree with you that this was a hard game to watch. The Blazers played pretty ugly. But I guess if we won, the Griz must have played worse. And on top of that, we're one of only two teams left in this tourney.

I'd be extremely happy if the Blazers played an ugly regular season only to end up in the finals.

The way things stand right now, I'd be overjoyed if we made it to the Finals; regardless of how shitty we played.

Wait...
Your argument is that the way we play in certain situations in summer league carry over in to the regular season?

Welp... that’s it for me Everyone.
Enjoy the season

You disagree?

By all means, let's discuss it. Why do you disagree with that?

It will be a 90% Laker broadcast with LeBron interviews and salivating over the Laker players regardless of the score. It will also be a Laker crowd so watch how bad the reffing is for the Blazers.

Wish it wasn't going to be that way but so predictable.

Last summer it was all Lonzo all the time.

The game was pretty ugly but sometimes some team play ugly and physical like Memphis did tonight and you start playing like them. I really believe we definitely got caught up in that type game tonight.

I appreciate the diplomatic approach from you here but I’m not going to waste time discussing the vast difference between summer league and the nba regular season.

I'm not saying that they are identical. I'm saying that some things from Summer League determine how we will play in the regular season. Such as plays, player rotations, etc etc.

No, Summer League and the Regular Season are not the same. But it doesn't mean that they are completely uncorrelated either.

Well I guess the reason I would disagree is no one’s “best” players are out there. Summer league may show “some” things of what’s to come, but the regular season squad will at most want these guys to be role players and some of them won’t even make the team.

I’m kind of curious how you intertwine summer league and the regular season? Is it coaching? Effort?

I have never in my life heard anyone including a player, coach, upper management or a writer ever suggest that summer league rotations have any corilation with nba rotations? How could they? They are entirely different rosters..

As far as plays, okay sure yes that is because it’s the same playbook. I still don’t see how you can say they are the same though...you think we are calling the same plays for John Jenkins as we are for CJ? Do you think we even call plays as much in the regular season? I would say that’s highly, highly doubtful considering the entirely different roster on the regular squad.

I would say that if you can't hit key free throws in SL, it doesn't bode well for leaving you on the floor in clutch moments during the regular season.
