Y’all do have to pay a lot of good players, which means some will be cast aside. It sucks, but it’s the reality of being a super bowl team.
Except a lot are young and still on smaller contracts.

it’s a better reality than just simply getting to the playoffs, no?
It is but, super bowl appearances are far from a guarantee in the NFC. NFC West especially, we are in the murderers row of divisions.

Not for long, Kittle is gonna get crazy money next season, Armstead, Juice, and Sanders are all gonna wanna piece this summer (I think they’re all FA?). Then you got Bosa after that but that will be 3-4 years away.

irony from a team with no fan base til they won a championship. I was 5 when I became a fan because that was the regional team and my family is Bay Area.
Lol and I was 8 when I followed my Dads fandom. Seattle never even been to the SB when I started watching.

I grew up liking them because Steve Young was a lefty like me and they're the closest team to me. I'm not old enough to remember the championships besides maybe barely the last one.

does he get big money next year? Or 2021 season?

serious question. Don’t pay that much attention to nfl or it’s CBA. I know he already had a deal for next year under his nfl rookie contract. Don’t know how it works so I’m just asking.

Meh, the way they lost, I can live with it. Shanahan was out-coached or outsmarted himself. The team on the field is as good as any. You play to your strengths to get the first down when you’re up three late, you get a first and run the clock out. You get a questionable call that cost you three points late in the first half. The Niners has every chance to win the game and they lost it themselves but it wasn’t just one play.

For me, it’s easy to walk away, but I’m not a huge NFL fan and admit to following the Niners in good times and fading away in the bad. It sucks that they lost, but they had the game and gave it away. Nobody but Niners fans will remember as such, but they easily could have won and lost on silly and questionable game management.
I agree with this. All they had to do was move the ball. They didn't. They lost.

oh, and juice is signed for one more year.

I'm cursed. I honestly dont think I'll ever see one of my teams win a championship in my lifetime.

Bummer. I've seen 5 superbowl championships, an NBA championship, several Epl and MLS soccer championships and a few MLB baseball championships I'm looking forward to even more. :headbang:

I think it’s 2021? Since he wasn’t a high pick he has smaller years deal. I imagine the Niners will attempt to extend him this summer though. Lock him up.

Yeah youre right, as a fan, I'm screwed.
Nah, I love the front 7 on defense and their young for the most part, I dont know Shermans contract situation but I think they’d be better off drafting a CB to take his place cant keep up speed wise anymore.

Its just really hard to predict year to year whats going to happen, offensively SF does remind me of LAR last year though, good but not great receivers likes to run, and throw on PA’s, Jimmy G needs Play action and a lot to go right around him to be good, similar to Goff. Difference is Gurley dropped off big time this year and the PA for Goff wasnt all that effective. SF has like 4 RB’s who are effective.

Shit, we could be in for a Chiefs dynasty. Mahomes is only gonna get better.

But, luckily B2B champions are rare in the NFL.
He is also about to get Paid, and usually when a star QB gets paid, they cant afford all those weapons and he’s got a ton of weapons, we’ll see though. I think Damien Williams deserved the MVP tonight not Mahommes, Mahommes had a good 4th quarter but he didnt do much before then and Williams had 100 yards rushing the go ahead TD and the TKO td.

that’s the word on the street that it’ll happen. Something like $13-15m/year. Cray.

that’s why I think the rest of the nfl is fucked now. Mahomes has another year on the cheap. Teams that can win a SB with a qb on the rookie deal are good for years. And Mahomes is legit.

I think 13-15m is gonna be conservative, with Kittle’s role in your offense I think he’s gonna want 18+, which is the going rate for top receiving targets in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers was on his 1st non rookie deal when he won his SB, but it was cheaper than most because he hadnt played much, he got paid a few years later and hasnt won any SB’s since. :dunno:

It’s been tough to win since Wilson got his pay day too, but I don’t think it’s impossible. You just have to hit in the draft and make smart signings. Easier said than done, but possible.
