I probably can not even get a channel with the game on, so my decision is made for me. But if I did, I would would chose other things to do.

I have not watched much football at all the past 10 years, so this is not new. Once a big football fan, but the game just lost it's attraction for me. Now in retrospect, I think it was the broadcast more that the game that turned me off. Too many messages embedded in the broadcast. Political messages, PC messages killing the fun of watching football.

Of course the latest of using the games to desecrate the flag and disrespect the National anthem closed the deal. Funny commercials will not make up for the pain inflicted by the messages embedded.

Whine whine whine.
Someone sounds butthurt.

So the miniscule amount of politics in a football broadcast causes you pain, yet you choose to hang out here in the OT forum?

The OT Forum is a great venue to whine about the great pain that peaceful protest causes.

You really need to get a better antenna if you can't get an OTA tv channel like NBC.

politics in a football broadcast

Well to be frank, kneeling during the anthem and avoiding facing the flag is not really politics, it is simply rudeness intended to piss people off.
There was a website I saw that explained the intent. It showed a back guy holding a flag he said was like the big flag flown at Iwo Jima.
Here is what we think of your fucking flag and the fools that serve it! Proceeds to pretend to wipe ass with it. Nothing but crude.

But it does seem to be what it is about.

You can watch the superbowl for free on NBC.com.

I suppose. I have a couple of 50 mile (so they say) antennas. I guess the NBC stations are a little farther out. ABC in Santa Barbara comes in best.
I am told the next step up would be to yagi which is really directional. The ones I have now are a bit directional too, and I notice it as the boat swings about a little. I don't think I can get a yagi pointed at the right spot on the boat. Dependent on which direction the wind if from, even the docks move some.

Aw well, the key to happiness is being pleased with what you've got, not...

I expect they find your tears to be extra salty, you being an old salt...

hard to believe there aren't translators, but than again, I don't necessarily know your location that well (I'm assuming this is while on the boat?).

Oh, I think these stations all come via translators on these mountains in the area. The locations are all listed on some mountain or other.

You sailors and your quaint masturbation euphemisms.

May your mast stand true and proud.

Ha!
Well I am rather pleased to be just a simple man. It must be a troublesome burden to have a mind run tethered like yours.

Great game so far. I'm sure people are watching. 2 hours before game my wife's salons had an hour wait. Now, no wait.

Funny how a game that originally was mostly watched by conservatives, veterans and Americans who played the game either in school or professionally, is now primarily watched by snowflakes who don't even know the actual rules of the game.

The majority of my friends who now follow football are women who are into fantasy football.

That would suggest their hubbies are skipping the game to take their wives out instead.

Super Bowl ratings are always big, but just how big were the ratings for this year’s installment? The Hollywood Reporter has the early numbers: Super Bowl LII pulled a 47.4 overnight rating. That’s a 3 percent drop from the 2017’s Super Bowl 51, which pulled a 48.8 in early numbers. That 3 percent decline from 2017 isn’t a huge slide, but it represents an eight-year low in household viewership for the Super Bowl. It is, however, a 9 percent increase over the last Eagles-Pats Super Bowl in 2005.
