Yup. He's on a reasonable contract for two more seasons.Would you trade CJ for him?

Arnovitz: Fact. When endowed with two dynamic, playmaking guards who can initiate offense off the most basic actions and carve up defenses at will, you should happily build around them.
Engelmann: Terry Stotts rates as the third-worst active coach by my coach metric, so replacing him should be the highest priority. His impact on player development and performance, especially on the defensive end, simply leaves too much to be desired. Scott Skiles would be my dream candidate.
Butler is one of the few players that I would. Yes. Not an easy decision but probably.Would you trade CJ for him?
Also, dealing Lillard would make sense if the Blazers could get a deal resembling the Nuggets' trade of Carmelo Anthony. Like Melo, he appears to play only one end of the court, but some teams would probably give up a lot to get him.
The problem with this is it doesn't do us any good, and in fact is a net negative because we lose a draft pick. Shedding Meyers' contract does NOTHING for us unless we first lose AT LEAST one of Crabbe/Tuner. If we can move Crabbe/Turner, plus someone like Davis/Aminu/Harkless, only then does shedding Meyers' contract start to make sense.Package Meyers with the Cleveland pick. Will someone bite?
Shedding Meyer's contract has a lot of benefit regardless. We are over the tax line, so Paul is essentially paying double Meyer's contract to have him on the team. The problem with this is it doesn't do us any good, and in fact is a net negative because we lose a draft pick. In a heart beat!Would you trade CJ for him?
I agree; we will eventually get rid of him, even if we have to wait for another year or two to come off his contract. The hope for a Meyers dumping: Miles Plumlee was traded by Milwaukee to Charlotte for Spencer Hawes and Roy Hibbert (two essentially expiring contracts). Plumlee had just signed a 4 yr, 50 mil deal this past summer. This is a dude that regularly gets DNP CDs
Meyers is a better player when he has his head on straight and is owed $8 mil less over the next three years of his contract. I don't think there's any need to attach picks to dump him.

...nice! You da man -- it's THAT time of year again![]()
Some of you need to learn that the truth isn't always peaches and cream, and if you don't like it, move on. There's also an ignore option. The fact that many of you keep responding so sensitively is a sign that deep down you know there is truth to some of the things i've been saying.
Exactly. People state that its good to save Paul money. They care more about PAs pockets then him!The problem with this is it doesn't do us any good, and in fact is a net negative because we lose a draft pick. My thoughts:
Dame and CJ could work. However, since they are not that great of passers/ball handlers,.
How can you say that when they run so many reads? I think they run the offense just fine, the thing is the best option is usually for them to take over. Thankfully we have Nurk and an entire offseason + training camp for Stotts to integrate him into the offense.oops meant to say they are not good at running the offense. they are good ball handlers but tend to ISO a little too much and do too much and it freezes out everyone else.

Its basically what he's asked to do. I guess my answer would be that at times I feel like him and dame get caught in the mindset of getting theirs, but I noticed down the stretch Dame especially was looking to get Nurk much more involved. I just think those two realized they didn't have a consistent third option around them, and that made it so they tried to shoulder more of the offensive load.you don't think CJ overdribbles?
I would but I'd definitely only do it if all other paths have been tried and it was a guarantee.Would you trade CJ for him?
So exact for your appreciation of their talent when you call them garbage.Nobody will take garbage like Crabbe, Harkless, Meyers or Turner without sending back equally bad players on long contracts. Without attaching draft picks to move contracts, you are just swapping crap. Expect Brandon Knight, Joakim Noah, Asik, Chandler Parsons and Ian Mahinmi to be the level of player available.
Another thing. There is absolutely no reason to keep Crabbe because we don't really use him. He averages about 8 field goal attempts a game. I just don't believe that this is due to him being not assertive enough. He was the go-to guy on his college team. He is very active out there. But when Lillard drives he is often so focused on getting to the basket, he really doesn't see anyone to pass too. And I understand this is maybe right; other teams focus on him so much that he needs to do everything perfect as he approaches the basket. It's more or less the same with CJ, he has to focus so much on his moves that he doesn't see anyone. I understand that these guys are our most competent and efficient scorers. But if you don't get everyone involved regularly they will never become competent efficient scorers. Did you see Draymond Green driving a couple times; he got close enough to the basket while being guarded by our undersized guys that he could have easily thrown it in, but he chose to pass to open three point shooters. (yeh, yeh, I understand these are proven three point shooters).
Anyway back to Crabbe. He often runs a little route around the outside and then circles towards the basket. He often gets a full yard ahead of his guy, but he never gets the ball. Often it seems it is a bad angle between him and Damon but could it also be Damon is pretty short (as is our entire team; how the hell did that happen?!!)
But to reiterate; we haven't found a way to use Crabbe in all these years, so let's trade him. I think there must be a team out there that realizes he can be utilized better.
So you think a team will just take a guy like Meyers, Crabbe or Turner by themselves and give you something good in return? If we are getting rid of the contracts, it won't be Davis, Aminu and Harkless who we will look at first. They actually have contracts which are worth keeping.

Not gonna lie, I would be disgusted with that draft. Why too high to pick Pasecniks and Dozier.Current Offseason Plan:

- #15 + Al-Farouq Aminu + Festus Ezeli for Thaddeus Young + #48 (Kadeem Allen)
- Ed Davis + Future 2nd for Kyle O'Quinn + Salary Filler (Vujacic/Plumlee/Ndour - would be waived)
2017 - 2018 Roster:
- #20 - Anzejs Pasceniks
- #26 - P.J. Dozier
- #48 - Kadeem Allen
- PG - Lillard / McCollum / Napier /Allen
- SG - McCollum / Crabbe / Dozier
- SF - Harkless / Turner/ Dozier / Layman
- PF - Young / Vonleh / O'Quinn / Harkless
- C - Nurkic / O'Quinn / Leonard / Pasecniks
