This was absolutely insane. I remember calling my girlfriend (now my wife) maniacally telling her we won the lottery. Much to her disappointment she thought I was talking about the real lottery.

Let’s replicate these vibes this year!

Looks like someone makes a cameo in this as well.

I love that clip because there is video proof that we (due to D69 convincing me wanted Durant when almost without exception, everyone else wanted Oden.
Thanks 'D' :twothumbs:

Hard to say right now since additional players will rise during workouts, but I was thinking if we land 1-3 we keep it.
Anything after that we look to trade the pick. However, now I am leaning towards only keeping it if it is #1.

Last year I wanted to keep the pick no matter what, and I feel justified in thinking so. This year, even though it is supposed to be a deep draft, I am not feeling it.

The only reason I see to trade it is if the team can become a legit contender. I've seen zero indication that is possible. I'd keep it, unless a superstar is available, which I doubt.

OG and Julius Randle level players are not going to get the Blazers close to that level. Just take the time and make sound decisions to add long term talent.

Is it just me or was there some sort of male model in that video! Dashing good looks and a great personality.

Man what an amazing event that was! Just felt surreal. What was our chances at the #1 pick that night?
Kinda’ made up for us having the worst record in the league and getting #4 a couple years before (even though that ended up working out great for us)

What a great moment. Was living in Denver and , like many of you, was going nuts . My neighbors downstairs were probably ready to call the cops. Definitely a top moment just outside, the Championship, WCF win vs. Phoenix, the Wave, & 0.9 shot. Pure elation. Fingers crossed for this lottery.

my take is that it's almost always best to keep a top-10 pick and roll the dice

and I think that's even more the case now because teams aren't just demanding a 1st for a non-all-star level player...they are demanding multiple 1st's. We heard that Toronto was demanding three 1st's for Anunoby...fuck that noise

I'm convinced the Blazers should keep their pick this coming draft. That's mainly because I don't believe there will be a good enough player available for a top-6 pick
If they don't get Wemby, but are in the top 5, i use the pick to try to pry Bridges from the Nets. He's a perfect fit. But not for OG. Mikal Bridges has taken the next step since the trade. OG is still the same role guy he's always been. I think Ujiri should have trade him last year instead. I think OG could help the Blazers, but i don't see him worth 3 draft picks. I guess we shall see. Siakam, ya he's worth 3 picks. Dude would be a season changer here.

Something worth thinking about:

Is there anyone from 5-8 that the Nets would be THAT excited about to walk away from Bridges?

as I said...forget it because for some reason right now the value of first round picks is ridiculously low:

Bridges is a very good player; a borderline all-star who will very likely make an all-star in the next year or two. But worth 4 first round picks? No way

Rumor is that the grizzlies offered that 4 first round picks. Their picks will all be in the 25-30 range. Those are not good value. No wonder the nets turned that down

An Ant + pick for some sort of Mikal package would be interesting…Dame/Sharpe/Mikal/Grant/Nurk is intriguing.

The Jazz are tanking and still beating the Spurs in San Antonio.

Maybe if the Blazers land the 2nd pick that would be their first option, looking to trade it for a very good player to a team that really needs Scoot Henderson.

Mikal isn't going to make this group a contender.

I'd say Nurk is a weak link as a starting center. I mean he's fine if you think of him as a 20-25mpg big who has missed half his career with injuries. He has value on the court. He could split center action with another big. But he isn't the sole center to anchor a team.

Sharpe has huge potential but probably won't have the timeline to pair with Dame/Grant peak progressing into their 30s.

I'd likely keep the pick over Mikal, and I don't think it makes sense from the Nets side either.

If I can get Wemby or Miller I’m keeping the pick.
I’m keeping that pick if it’s in the top 5-6 regardless. I’m not sure why there’s talks of trading it when we hit big on not trading #7 last year. There ARE guys like that this year (maybe not on Sharpe’s level) that can drastically change this franchise in a few years.

The Knicks pick to free up our 1sts + Ant and anyone outside of Dame and Sharpe are the most I’d give up for an upgrade right now.

Anytime you hit twice in back-to-back years that high in the draft, you got a chance to secure your future for a solid 5-10 years.

I really think if we have a chance to hit this year. So I’m with you on this one.

Dame giving us a clue on what he thinks of the tank. Apparently he’s referencing Nino Brown from the movie New Jack city.. A poster in the comment section seemed to figure out that Dame is all on board and that it’s going to lead to bigger things

Friday has OKC @ IND and ORL @ WAS.

Go Magic.....and come on Pacers!

The Magic/WAS game is somewhat win/win. Orlando losing to a beatable team would suck, no question. But it probably also likely puts Washington out of reach in case John Butler Jr. decides to get hot. They probably already are out of reach, but strengthening the floor of that pick isn't the worst outcome...

Nothing hyperbolic about that at all. Edey's not good enough.

I wanted to bite my tongue buuuuuuuuut

1. It's absolutely hyperbolic. Especially when you're talking about using the No. 44 pick in the draft on a guy that averaged 25.3 ppg in a league that routinely produces a number of NBA players every year. Also, we're in a league where Jusuf Nurkic and Rudy Gobert still are starters and there still are players like Izebuike on rosters, so teams still are finding places for lumbering giants.
2. The post it responded to was a pretty whimsical imagining of a summer league team that included two 7-4 guys and two 7-1 guys. I didn't realize it was opening up the door for someone to take themselves so seriously that they need to be Debbie Downer on a post like that to appear to have substantial basketball insight.

It was kind of like the guy who's in a circle of friends, and one of their buddies shows up and says he and his girl just got a puppy. You'd be the guy that says "Dogs are overrated. They make messes in your house and bite your guests." Geez, was that response that important that it was required to rain on someone's little parade, or are you just so important that everyone has to know your opinion no matter how tangential it may be?

somebody doesn't know who Nino Brown is, they shouldn't be following Dame.

It was the Grizzlies which are going to be 4 picks in the 15-30 range, along with maybe the GSW pick. Not really any upside there.

If we end up with the fourth pick and both are available should we trade Shaedon for the fifth pick just so we can make this happen?

Looks like Orlando is going to win. They’re gonna be good next year. Fultz should get MIP votes.
