am i wrong? if we are hellbent on keeping dame, then getting wemby is the only avenue to compete for a title in 2-3 yrs.
I’ll take getting swept every season in the playoffs than NOT making it. That’s an easy decision.

He prefers it because he gets to keep working.yeah...I know because you've said it 387 times
I prefer a series of lottery picks to a series of 1st round exits and sweeps. I've seen what the exits do for the team....just an excuse to reboot the failure
You're only wrong because none of us know what we don't know. We don't know what players will be available and we don't know what this team looks like with a legitimate second option with Dame along with high level defense role players.am i wrong? if we are hellbent on keeping dame, then getting wemby is the only avenue to compete for a title in 2-3 yrs.

I think there's another option that makes them a title contender. I think Wemby makes Joe's job easier. But if the Blazers get pick 2 to 4, i could see them have the potential to send that pick ,with Ant, to the Nets for Mikal Bridges. Plus they could use future draft capital to strengthen other positions. A starting lineup of Nurk, Grant, Bridges, Sharpe, and Dame is pretty damn good. If you could acquire Seth Curry, or Joe Harris to be that dead eye shooter off the bench, now we're talking. The Blazers still might be able to upgrade the center position with a Nurk, plus a 1st. move. But there aren't a lot of game changing starters at center. Would Nurk, plus a 1st net you a Myles Turner. Who knows. We will find out. No matter who the Blazers get, staying healthy is the biggest key.am i wrong? if we are hellbent on keeping dame, then getting wemby is the only avenue to compete for a title in 2-3 yrs.
I do too. While I prefer that HCP is employed (and not for the obvious "mrs HCP is free" jokes that it offers us), I don't think making the playoffs only to lose in the 1st round the majority of the time, is really the win it gets presented as.yeah...I know because you've said it 387 times

Because Mikal Bridges is a fantastic role player, but the Nets want stars. Scoot gives them the flash they're looking for. It NYC.Unless Bridges moves Heaven and earth to force his way to Portland, why would BKN take Simons and 2 for Bridges?
There are also teams that tank every year and get no where for years. The Kings , for instance. They finally his paydirt with Fox, and Haliburton, and were able to trade one to get Sabonis. But it was 16 freakin' years.Hard pass.
What is your definition of a star?Because Mikal Bridges is a fantastic role player, but the Nets want stars. Scoot gives them the flash they're looking for. It NYC.

The NBA needs to look into mental health exemptions because Simmons and Zion are struggling and are becoming boat anchors.
I’m not sure? Just a bold statement. IF you can find a taker for Wendy that gives you a difference maker, then maybe not?am i wrong? if we are hellbent on keeping dame, then getting wemby is the only avenue to compete for a title in 2-3 yrs.
Simmons has been all defense several years. I’m not sure you achieve that unless there is some passionFor a long time now there have been players who were just naturally really gifted at basketball, but they didn't love the game. Someone else referenced Derrick Coleman. I know for a fact that Darius Miles pretty much only played ball because of his mom. They have a ton of potential and natural talent, and they get to collect free money, so why would they change? Zion and Simmons are getting PAID to do basically nothing.
So you post some pic and not expect me to reply?yeah...I know because you've said it 387 times

Brother I’m booked solid for the next month working basketball. He prefers it because he gets to keep working.
At what point do you wish we would just simply make the playoffs again regardless of outcome? 5 years, 10?I do too. While I prefer that HCP is employed (and not for the obvious "mrs HCP is free" jokes that it offers us), I don't think making the playoffs only to lose in the 1st round the majority of the time, is really the win it gets presented as.
Now, if you have a competent GM/Front office, you can afford to make the playoffs and improve, but I think from our experience we did not have a front office that was competent and set out on improving.
The jury is out on this current FO, and this is the summer where they need to do something big (doesn't have to be a home run, but they can't be given a pass if they luck into the #1 pick) or it's gonna be a train wreck few years.
But I'd rather do that instead of just going back with the same flawed roster choices and tank out in the playoffs in 5 games.
Well buckle up, you’re getting your wish, you got no say.Hard pass.
At what point do you wish we would just simply make the playoffs again regardless of outcome? 5 years, 10?
I’ll take making the playoffsWhen the team shows growth on the court, and isn't making the same mistakes years into a coaches tenure. When they actually play defense. When they show improvement.
SO you’re telling me the tools on here wouldn’t be ecstatic if we make a couple moves this summer and land the 8th spot next year? The ones claiming they rather NOT make the playoffs? Just squeezed in somehow. When the team shows growth on the court, and isn't making the same mistakes years into a coaches tenure. When they actually play defense. When they show improvement.

Depends on the moves.SO you’re telling me the tools on here wouldn’t be ecstatic if we make a couple moves this summer and land the 8th spot next year? The ones claiming they rather NOT make the playoffs? Just squeezed in somehow.
WHo wouldn’t want a consistent deep run in the playoffs. That doesn’t happen for many teams as you know. If that’s the only thing that makes it a successful season…. I don’t know how you can ever enjoy this team. They’d rather the team make consistent runs deep in the playoffs, and sometimes that takes drastic changes.
