If Biden does drop out and they go to the convention with this all unsettled, is a party push for Cuomo completely out of the question?
Probably not but I would think several of the previous candidates would push for support.
It will come down to whoever the DNC & media endorse.

Court Documents: Trump Banned Epstein From Mar-A-Lago For Alleged Assault On Underage Girl

And then we have this story. Let's see, knowing what we know about trump would it be likely that he unfriend someone over a battle for a property or unfriend him over a sexual allegation that had been going on well before he was "banned" from Mar A Lago. :bgrin:

Funny you mention that as I was thinking that last week with the success and support that Coumo has received. He would likely wipe trump off the political map.

It’s definitely unprecedented. I think Biden would have to drop out voluntarily.

Yep--seems to me, based on the general disparity in public perception in their respective handlings of the pandemic, that he would be a slam dunk winner in November. If the priority truly is defeating Trump, I can't imagine why they wouldn't at least explore that route. Of course, his dad famously had absolutely zero interest in the presidency, so it's very possible that he's wired the same way.

I don’t think Cuomo will want to run this year. I think the first step would be to convince Biden to drop out. If he doesn’t want to drop out, then the DNC would be stuck with Biden. There are plenty of good candidates available.

not true. paying the hookers hush money and then not reporting it is illegal. It was obviously done to avoid a scandal during the campaigning which is illegal reported or not.

Wait... I'm not saying you wrong, but it sure doesn't sound right.

So you are saying is I can go to Vegas, go to a legal brothel and then say to the female I was with, "oh... here is an extra $500 to not take a picture of me and to not post anything on FB and keep this hush hush so no one knows...."

That's illegal?

Not so sure about that. Sounds like a consensual agreement. Now if it was a threat to maintain silence... I owe you , but not paying if you talk... I believe that would be illegal. Or if it was, hey ill pay you to not say anything about me buying drugs, that would be illegal, because there was an illegal act that was covered up through payment.

If Biden really did what he is accused of he should most definitely resign. But as with Kavanaugh, it was many years ago and there is NO (real) proof. I am genuinely sorry for Ms. Reade, but she should have spoken out years ago. Now all she is is a political weapon. It’s way too convenient......and all too familiar. Men in power (generally speaking) have always taken advantage of women. As with so many of these allegations, they only surface when it is politically expedient. After Trump and Kavanaugh getting free passes for this kind of behavior, the Republicans have no moral high ground whatsoever. They should shut the fuck up and sit down. I’m not a Biden fan but ousting Trump is the highest priority this country has. And shame on us all for allowing us to reach this nadir.

I don’t think Republicans are really going there. It’s more about the media not covering Biden as they did with Kavanaugh.

CNN alone produced 700 articles on the Kavanaugh story.

I think this misses the point. What this should be about is the Democrats getting the best candidate possible who represents the main political platform ideals of the party, but also one without significant character issues that fly in the face of the women’s rights policies that the Democrats have admirably taken up in the last decade or so. That objective doesn’t have anything to do with Trump or the Republicans and their own policy and character flaws. Do the Democrats want to hold true to what they’ve been saying about holding men accountable for how they treat women, or do they only hold those positions about Republican men?

Pressure Mounts For Biden To Unseal Documents Related To Time In Senate, Tara Reade

Pressure is mounting for 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden to unseal documents related to his time in the Senate as he faces increased scrutiny for allegations of sexual assault leveled against him by Tara Reade.

Reade, who worked as a Senate staffer for Biden in 1993, has accused the then-senator of kissing her, touching her and penetrating her with his fingers without her consent. The Biden campaign has denied the assault and said it “absolutely did not happen,” and has not responded to many requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Reade has said that she made harassment complaints to three Biden staffers, none of whom reportedly took action, and that she filed a written complaint with a “Senate personnel office” in 1993, according to The New York Times.

She said she did not have a copy of this complaint, TheNYT reported.

If Reade’s story is true, the complaint would likely be held in Biden’s Senate records, which are housed by the University of Delaware Library — Senate records that cover a wide swath of Biden’s political career but are being kept secret until Biden “retires from public life.”

Not being there ant not coming to a judgement at all, that particular I highlighted seems a bit farfetched. How does he get that far without more of a struggle? Unless it was allowed?

I know if someone went to go that far on me and I didn't want it, there would be blood.

I’m just posting the related articles. I’m not in a boat that someone is guilty until proven innocent. I believe everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That doesn’t mean the story shouldn’t be vetted by the press.

Oh I totally get it. Just making an observation myself. Trying to be as unbiased as possible. :)

All stories on our leaders should be vetted by the press. I just wish we had a press better at unbiased vetting.

Come on, OB, the "why didn't she fight harder" crap is one of the slut-shaming lines used against way too many assault victims. A young intern, alone in a secluded spot, being quickly assaulted by her boss, who is more physically and politically powerful...I don't find it hard to believe at all.

I didn't mean it in that way and i'm by all means a supporter of women. IT just seems a violation of that depth would have left an immediate impact and been evident. My sister was molested as a teen and it caused her to lose half her hair for the next two years due to the stress.

The analogy that she should have fought back harder was not a good one. I'm just saying the scars I would think, both emotional and physical would be more immediately evident, I suppose.

Everyone experiences and deals with stress differently. I'm very sorry to hear about your sister's experiences, but that sort of stress reaction is far from universal. Some people hold the trauma deep inside without it being evident to anyone--sometimes not even themselves until much later when it comes out unexpectedly.

True statement

Good point.

It's possible, but unlikely, that definitive proof, or disproof, will emerge before the election. In which case it will be likely fatal or irrelevant, respectively.

If nothing definite emerges, it will hinge on how much Trump campaign can make it an issue. They will certainly try very hard.

My guess is that effort won't be super successful, partly because Trump's exposure on the same topic makes it an obviously hypocritical political gambit, and partly because the 'I love Putin' tweets makes Reade seem like less of an 'everywoman' and more like a political actor and/or kook.

“President Putin’s obvious reverence for women, children and animals, and his ability with sports is intoxicating to American women”

However, there's no doubt that at least a few Biden voters will be discouraged from voting, or pushed to a 3rd party, by the 'he's a rapist too' narrative.

I made a thread a month ago saying Biden would NOT be the nominee. And that was purely based on him having mashed potatoes for brains, I didn’t even know he was a raper at that point.
1. The word is rapist not raper;
2. You still don't know he's a rapist.

There's been so much mud slung around, especially against Democrats, that it's going to take a whole lot more than some tabloid story to get me riled up. Could this story possibly be something along the lines of the Obama is not a citizen tabloid?

Mud slung around in here or in general. If you say in general, there is nothing close to the mud thrown at Trump. It’s not even a contest.
