Saw that Lebanc may want out of SJ. He wouldn't be a bad bottom 6 guy to have at 24. He's from Brooklyn so I'm sure he'd be down with coming back to NY.

Pass. 5'11. Not what I'm looking for in a role player. I want this team to get bigger, nastier and more physical with some offense with it's bottom 6 forwards.

We don't really have any great 4th line type prospects. Lettieri is decent but like Nieves he's more of an AHL type. Gettinger sucks for the most part and Fontaine never turned into anything. Barron looks like he could be a player.

Gettinger doesn't suck. He's 21 with 10 g 19 points this year. He's 6'6. Guys like that sometimes don't figure it out until 23-24. Like Boyle. Fontaine unfortunately got hurt this year but I always liked him and he's a beast on draws. He was their best defensive forward from all reports and has been a guy historically that produces better offensivley in the playoffs. He has good size as well. He is out for the season with a shoulder injury. I think next year he has a good chance of making the 4th line as the center. Both Gettinger and Fontaine would be 2 guys I would be targeting if they don't get a chance here. A team like Edmonton, Vancouver, Chicago, etc... could use those guys for depth. Nieves and Fogarty suck.

Figures dickless J.T. Miller is 59% on draws this year with 46 points. Wait until Caschmuck fans see him do jack shit in the playoffs as always. Thank god the Bruins were stupid in 2015 when they had the 13th, 14th and 15th overall picks. Two of them are crap and the players selected 16th 17th were Barzal and Kyle Connor.

Hertl would have been nice but he just tore his acl and pcl.

Plus side it sounds like Kreider is as good as gone. That is very smart for a few reasons:

1. He is the best forward available at the trade DL, which means we should get a great return. An NHL ready good prospect and a 1st round pick to start.
2. We are not making the playoffs this year. We at best will be a fringe type playoff team next year with a lot of dead money against the cap, and more kids getting their feet wet. So in 2 years when we are really ready to win Kreider will be 30, and maybe have 2 good years left.
3. He is going to get a 6 or 7 year deal for 7 mill per +/-. No shot we should pay him that. And before anyone says we can afford him, I am NOT saying we cannot afford him, we can, I am saying it would not be a smart move given the haul we can get in return, the fact we are not a playoff team this year and most likely next year, and he is simply not worth 7 mill per +/- for 6 or 7 years.

Smart move by Gorton. I have thought all along he was getting dealt for sure.

Hope the Blues trade for him. Not the stupid Bruins. Definately will bring back a 1st, but what else in addition quality wise is debatable. I'd think he'll garner more than Hayes did.

If were not in the playoffs next year we need a new coach. Trading kreids who we can't replace for another pick in the 25 to 30 range that will take 3 to 4 years before we see them and another B prospect as no one is giving their best prospects these days is just dumb! We have plenty of other things we can trade for picks and/or prospects such as georgiev and D'angelo amongst others that we actually have replacements for. And if miller is ready next year you can add skjei to that list. Were short top 6 forwards now so yes lets trade kreids by all means so were short another top 6 forward. Why the hell did we just sign panaran who is great to the contract that we did if were not going to compete for another couple of years. And I'm not sorry to say this but Hank and his 8.5 million backup goalie contract needs to go. He is the 3rd best goalie on the roster right now and its a ridiculous contract to pay for someone to play 25 games next year as shesty will be our main goalie. At this point Hank is being selfish and needs to do the right thing by going to a team with a shot at the cup.

If they absolutely know they would resign Kreider, then I'm all for dealing him for a 1st and a prospect like Lemieux which this team doesn't have nearly enough of. Only if they resign him 100%. However as I said before. Trade DeAngelo. Trade Buchnevich. Trade Georgiev. Trade Fast. My first choices.

If it's St.Louis maybe it's a 1st plus Kyrou, or from Boston 1st plus Frederick. Bowers from Colorado could be solid along with a 1st.

No way I see Blues giving up Kyrou. Frederick I can see. If the Bruins had Kreider last year, I think they win the cup pretty easy.

It astonishes me how some of you value Kreider. No playoffs this year, maybe fringe type playoff team next year (we are not a cup contender next year with even more kids and a ton of dead money on the cap), which means he'll be 30 when have a chance to win again, and you want to pass up a good return haul for him AND give him a 6 or 7 year deal worth 7 mill per +/-.

That's crazy. Thankfully Gorton sees it differently.

Yeah chuck looking forward to trading our top 3 forward for another pick we’ll see in the 23-24 season. Will be great asset management with no forwards a million d men and 3 goalies up that can play and more down below that are good. Kreids is built like a machine and is not wearing out anytime soon.

Exactly. Kreider is a fitness freak who will be good until his mid 30's. He's also probably the best net front presence in the game. Last night a perfect example. A deflection and no way Zibanejad scores without Kreider's screen. You can't count on Kreider for 25 to 30 goals and 50+ points if he's healthy enough. Strome has 43 points, Kreider 34 and Kreider does so many more things to help the team win. The only thing Gorton sees if he trades Kreider, Chuck is that he can get a lot for him and sign him back next season. What is crazy is when the dumbasses gave Smith 4+ million. Kreider getting 6+ million is nothing. You can buy out Smith and Staal and even Hank if needed. The rest of the players on the team are young and won't make much for a while. TDA is the only other guy coming up that will get paid.

Yeah, we should buy out all those guys and have 13 mill of dead money against the cap, yes that is a smart approach. When Kreider is dealt for a haul it will be a good day for us. Then when another team gives him a 6 year 6.9 mill per deal that will be another good day.

We need to understand we have one more season of bringing more kids up, having some growing pains, move past a ton of dead money against the cap, and getting out from under the Staal/Hank/Smith contracts, and away we go in 2 years.

I’m sure the breadman will be ecstatic to hear we MAY be good in 2 more years!!

He knows it, and knew it when he signed here. Of course we want more next season, but to expect the team to have a load of dead money against the cap, have more kids coming up, and have 3 deals that are hurting us (which thankfully go away after next season) makes it pretty obvious we'll have one more middling year after this one.

BTW - Gorton knows it also. Why do you think he bought out Shatt this past summer knowing there would be a balloon year of dead cap money next season? Because he knows he needs to get through next season, see the Shatt dead money go away almost fully, the Staal/Smith/Hank money go away fully, and see more kids get their first taste of the NHL. Then away we go.

Wake up dude. At this moment there are no kids to bring up at forward. Andersson is a mess. Kravtsov has done nothing this year. Bring up what? The system is weak with top 6 forward talent.

A guy like Keane who has 26 points in his rookie AHL season is going to be one of countless defenseman prospects we have in high demand. I really want them to go balls to the wall for Cozens. Buffalo is clueless. They have to start winning now. They are wasting Eichel's career. That's another guy I would part with Lundkvist for. It has to be a big talent. Other than Dahlin their defenseman suck and so do their goalies.

The best chance of getting a future young star is probably Vegas and Cody Glass. Vegas needs TDA in the worst possible way. They have no PP QB and no right handed defenseman with legit offensive skills. As good as TDA is here offensively, we need a Glass up front more going forward. Fox

One for one I'd have to do this deal. However, I'm getting the sense they are going to lock up TDA for a long time. I never thought they would deal Lundkvist but TDA is pretty much making it impossible to deal him.

I didn't say there will be many forwards called up, it will be D and playing Shest in goal. As I said in the other thread, forwards will be added via trade IMO. Trading some of the good excess D (and Georgiev) for forwards. That's the path, not overpaying Kreider for 6 or 7 years, double so when we can get a haul now, triple so when we are not ready to really win for 2 years.

Paying a forward who averages 25 to 30 goals, 50 to 55 points a season if he's healthy and is probably the best net front guy in the league is not overpaying him. Look around the league. There a ton of forwards gettign paid 5.5 to 7 million who suck moose dick compared to Kreider.

Oh yeah, I agree with that. Still doesn't mean signing Kreider for 7 mill per +/- is smart because some other players have bad deals. Hell Hayes got 7.1 per, and that's an awful deal. And not only would we give him 7 mill per +/- we'd pass up the haul we can get for him in a trade. His market will be great as the clear # 1 forward available. We'll get a lot. Get a good forward prospect and a 1st. Get a very good return for Georgiev as well.

I can't really see another team giving Kreider 7y but i guess it's possible as he will be good until 35-36. Unless the Rangers can get him for 6/40 I'd pass, and getting a 1st+solid young forward may even outweight that. Hopefully they deal AG and don't leave them with 3 goalies again, as HL is not going to retire. Shesty and Georgiev would be a good cheap tandem for sure but i don't know that they could avoid losing him to Seattle if he's playing well. Get a 1st or Kapanen level player for him now.

I guy they could have a real legit shot at adding is Forsberg. Good contract signed for 2 more years. 25 years old. Nashville stinks and Renne is ancient like Hank and is having a bad season. They surely need a goalie for the future and to rebuild. Forsberg is a really good player. I could something like Georgiev, Buchnevich, Keane and a Hajek for him. To me, I don't see Keane and Hajek making this team. Honestly, I think Rykov will take Hajek's spot soon. So off the roster all we would give up is Georgiev and Buchnevich for a guy that should score 35-40 goals on one of our top 2 lines.

Honestly waiting to empty part of the farm and make that 4 for 1 or 3 for 1 deal for another, proven, young star talent on a team that needs to rebuild. Larkin, Forsberg, Meier. That deal is ought there to be made. He just has to make it.

And how about those...Chiiiieeffsss.. :) Finally one of my favorite pro teams win after 26 years. You can guess who the last one was.

Hank can’t be off this team soon enough. I’m sorry. I know he carried this team for many years, but now he is holding the team back. He SHOULD do the right thing and retire at the end of the year but he won’t (and I don’t blame him as a competitor you never want to retire when you think you have more left but his contract is killing us)

His reaction time has not been good in this game.
