OT Teacher Fights Student

the kid threw a basketball at him and was trying to physically intimidate him. I guess we will see how it shakes out but it seems that there is a case to be made for self defense.

I vaguely remember a Blazer, maybe it was Sheed, hitting a teammate in the nuts with a long throw in practice and laughing about it.

Don't think anyone got beat up though.

No. It isn't. I don't care what someone calls me, my kids, my wife, my mother--there is no excuse for me responding with physical violence unless I'm defending myself or another from physical violence.

This is where I cross the line, and I offer no apologies for whatever happens.

Not saying it's right, or wrong, just that it's non-negotiable.

PC 242 states that battery is an intentional use of violent force to another person.
  • PC 243 assesses that battery is punishable by up to $2,000 in fines and incarceration in jail that does not exceed six months.
    • 243.4 (6) is against a minor, someone under 18 years of age
      • (d) If the offender has had a prior felony conviction, the offender may be imprisoned from two to four years and may receive a fine that does not exceed $10,000.

I SWEAR TO GOD...

I'm so sick of people who aren't black telling us when and how and whether or not to use the N Word!!

EITHER VERSION!!!

Kindly STFU!

Nobody has the right to censor anyone else's speech.

Not you, not me, not the government.

That includes telling them to STFU. (You have the right to tell them, they have the right to do it anyway.)

Telling someone to STFU isn't censoring them.

Have you lost your ability to post bullshit?

Hm. That’s tough for me. Let’s live in reality for a minute. Someone calls your wife or kid something horrible or says something else truly horrible....would be almost impossible for me not to react in a way that was either physical or leads right to it. Just being real here.

I'm pretty sure I can goad most people into assaulting me. You may act all high and mighty but its my speciality.

As long as you have it in your mind that that's the case, then sure. As for my "reality", I have already long since decided that there is no justifiable cause for a physical response, so I can't conceive of a thing someone could say about anyone I love that would cause me to go against that predetermined conviction.

I never said it was.

Just that your attempts to intimidate people's Freedom of Speech are a waste of time.

The teacher SHOULD NOT HAVE HIT THE KID but...

what that kid hopefully learned and what some adults need to learn...

When you're trying to provoke a response, you don't get to pick what that response is.

Not traveling to Mexico any time soon, and the fake asylum seekers are definitely not coming into America.
They're contemplating staying in Mexico.

That's not winnable. It's not an opinion one way or the other, it's just a statement of fact.

Wrong. Every situation, especially a legal case is winnable or losable. Ask OJ.

Nope, not even remotely possible. You don't pick a fight with a child, you're gonna lose in court. Let's see what happens.

What will happen is he'll probably be fired and the district will settle with the little bitch ass thug.

If it were me in his position, I would show what a little shit the kid is and has been. Show how he was menacing, bring into account the past instances of this teacher being assaulted and nothing being done by the school district. If he gets fired, sue the school district for wrongful termination and not maintaining a safe working environment. I'm sure he can get enough people to back him up. He has pretty much overwhelming support from students and others at the school.

Wow.

That punk in the video? Abso-fucking-lutely.

5 words:

I wish a muthafucka would...

I WISH a teacher WOULD put their hands on my kid...
Sorry D. I can’t agree with you on this one. I have a 13 year old daughter and a 17 year old son and if either of them treated somebody else like this they better be able to back it up. My grandpa said, “Don’t let you mouth write checks your ass can’t cash”
I have taught my kids to treat the mailman the same way you’d treat the principal or teacher. The guy helping us at Fred Meyer the same they treat their grandparents. If they had the nerve to behave this way, they better be ready for the repercussions.
As a devoted father like I am, I would like to hear how you feel about what I said.

Anybody else notice another one of the kids at the very end of the video, run up and sucker punch the teacher from behind? Hope he gets his ass kicked out of school for that!

I have a 12-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter. I also have taught them to treat all adults with respect, even more respect than they show us. If they had the nerve to behave like this, they would be deserving of the consequences.

However, there are also limitations on the authority of the people with whom they interact. The guy at Fred Meyer doesn't have the authority to confiscate my kids' phones if they're being a public disturbance. The mailman doesn't have the authority to take away my daughter's keys if she nearly hits him with the car. And none of my children's teachers have the authority to strike them, no matter how obnoxious their behavior or foul their language. That disciplinary authority belongs to me and their mother--nobody else.

Even if my children are being incredibly disrespectful and flaunting everything I have ever taught them, the fact is that they are still my children, and I will show them the same love that I would if they were perfect, which includes coming to their defense if they are treated inappropriately. Were that my child in the video, he may be grounded until graduation, he may lose every earthly possession, he may end up in military school...but I'm still coming after the teacher that had the audacity to pummel him like that.

As a former teacher my favorite equalizer was the "Mom" card....kid, you can listen to me a chill out or face your mom...your choice!" The baddest punk in the classroom would usually fear the Mom card
