No $hit ? that explains everything !

She's not the only one. Not sure how he still has the job. Chris Haynes should take over the beat, the players actually respect him.

Agreed except Haynes' writing skills are lacking. He's not polished in that area. Perhaps it's editing. I dunno.

Why so sensitive? I was just trying to compliment your dancing abilities.

How was that me being sensitive? We went over this last summer, and BrianFromWA not knowing the actual CBA on this is a bit funny to me!

I'm sorry, what did I miss? The moratorium ends at 12:01 EST, and trades have to be completed before free agents can be signed. Can't make an offer without cap space. I spent last summer saying this. What did I get wrong?

You got wrong that the window is 24 hours. It doesn't matter what the sequence is of teams getting in their trade and/or FA requests. The entire day is all about making these deals.

There was one with a cat. Maybe you'll find it funnier.

I guess I don't get it. This thread is "Technical Question", correct? I gave the technical answer, only to be trolled by you. Eh, I'm used to it.

Haha! Fire up the fax machine (pant-shatting mode)!

Really? It doesn't matter what time it's done by any team on that day. It's for the full day. LMAO!!! It doesn't matter who is "first" to get in their requests.

Remember when the Blazers lost both Hibbert and Batum because Minnesota got in their offer to Batum 12 seconds before Portland's fax got into the league office?

Yeah, neither do I. How NateBishop3 ever got past that embarrassment last summer and still has 'credibility' is a bafflement.

Remember when that had nothing to do with the timing of getting things in at the end of the moratorium? So long as a move gets to the league office by the end of tomorrow, the actual timing doesn't matter.

We wasted an entire week last summer with me schooling NateBishop3 on this when he was in pant-shat mode about Minny getting in their offer to Batum prior to Portland getting in their offer to Hibbert (which never actually happened, anyhow).

Please tell me that somebody has learned the rules of this by now.

Of course not, but there is a 24 hour window. The actual timing doesn't matter as long as it's done tomorrow. The CBA allows for each day to be a 24-hour window to be received at the league office.

Did you REALLY miss this entire discussion last summer when NateBishop3 was clowning himself by talking about fax machines? Should I pull up that thread yet again?

I just know my stuff, unlike many others here who are moderators.

It wasn't really that funny, was it?

Damn it you're right, nothing but technical answers from you and trolling from me.

Please accept my apology.

Well I'll defend him. A year ago we were unsure of some technical questions as to how information moves securely between the team office and the league office. No one was sure at first, but we evolved, through trial and error, what the answer must be. Nothing wrong with that. Here's a similar question I just posted. Once solved, the answer will seem obvious, but it wasn't obvious at first.

So what's you point, Sly? Are you disagreeing with the fact that the timing doesn't matter, so long as it is over the next 24 hours?

And yes, you're trolling me. Clearly.

No, some of us had it correct from the beginning, and had to suffer through moderators who clearly didn't know their shit, until they were schooled by an underling such as me.

While it does not matter what time of day for things like signing restricted free agents, you still have to complete trades in order to use that cap space in a transaction.

Yes, and you get a 24-hour window in which to do so. It doesn't matter which comes into the league office first.

We went over this last year.

I just know my stuff, unlike many others here who are moderators.

Being a moderator does not correlate with knowledge. It is someone that helps maintain the site for no pay. I have seen more than once where a message board got exactly what it paid for.

That's one of the things I love about you, you post to antagonize a reaction out of someone then you get upset when you get that reaction.

Don't you yourself fall under your definition of trolling? What was the point of your posts other than some sort of "I'm right, you were wrong a year ago" need for validation?

So you think Houston can hold a press conference later today for the signing of Howard before the trade of Robinson is complete?

How is pointing out the answer to the given thread 'trolling'. Also, I don't recall replying to one of your posts in this thread before you gave me the full troll treatment, during which I never violated TOS. If you have an issue with me, fine, but I did nothing wrong in this tread.

So long as it is all under the 24-hour day, then yes. I really can't believe this is an issue again, considering the embarrassment of last summer by a few posters and their ignorance on what a "day" means.

Being a moderator does not correlate with knowledge. It is someone that helps maintain the site for no pay. I have seen more than once where a message board got exactly what it paid for.

Besides sharing wisdom with us, another purpose of a moderator (not on ESPN--they don't post) is to increase hit count. If Brian was raising some controversy to enliven the board, I don't blame him.

So justifiable reasons are 1) some had to be right and some wrong in a trial and error evolution toward a reasoned solution, 2) a mod shares knowledge and opinions just like non-mods, 3) a mod sparks up conversations to make the board interesting, and 4) anyone who fights with PapaG, I'm on his side.

not impressed with OLive, nor much what shows up on that site. especially Jason "i can't get a fact right to save my life" Quick. incidentally, "Quick" isn't really his name ... just his wife's nickname for him!

You'll fit in nicely here

Wow, I never accused you of violating anything. And all I did was post a picture and then when you said it wasn't funny I tried to find a funnier version for you. You were the one who was saying the people were "pants shatting" and an "embarrassment". If you calling out people over disagreements from over a year ago isn't "trolling" and me posting pictures is then again for the second time in this thread I apologize.

Man, I guess I'm still behind. I don't know where the 24 hours thing that you're talking about came from. I don't know what thread you're talking about from last year.

I'm happy to learn new stuff--I don't know everything about everything CBA-related. As far as "in the CBA", I don't have a download of the new CBA. I have the 2005 version, and the NBPA Summary of Changes for 2011, and I don't know where any of them says that you have 24 hours on the day after the moratorium to complete paperwork/etc. I can quote the rules on how long it takes and the mechanisms for renounced players, the address of the NBA office where the paperwork must be sent, etc., and those aren't 24 hours and are sequential. I'm going by word of mouth. It's not that way for the trade deadline, waiver requests, or renouncing a free agents.

Stuff can be signed/talked about/press conferences done starting at 12:01 EST on the 10th. (Or else you get hit like HOU did). Our trades must be completed before HOU can sign Howard and NOP can sign Evans. That's all I've been trying to say from the beginning of the thread.

You copied and pasted a bunch of posts of mine. That usually is a trolling activity, since you didn't address any of the posts.
