Yeah...career wise, most people will just think you're fucking weird if you bring that shit into the workplace. you'll be "that guy".

are you looking for an atheist friendly job, you should probably look into Tech fields or engineering then, most logical type of professions with people trying to disprove people's beliefs via logic.

If you actually have to deal with people on a daily basis though, arguing or telling people you're atheist and proud of it will just kind of get you ostracized as some weird commie hippie.

I probably shouldn't have even mentioned it. I don't really care, I have a ton of religious friends that I don't talk to about it, so I probably wouldn't at work.

I don't think Sociology and Psychology are the same as Philosophy in uselessness, but I agree.

They're fun classes and psych classes have all the hot chicks and are easy as fuck. maybe as a minor or second major it'd be ok. Philosophy classes are actually good for thinking and logic. To me, sociology and psychology is a bunch of common sense type of shit, day-to-day randomness.

I'm taking a psychology class right now... there are 7 fuckable girls in there. I counted.

The upper level ones are where its all at. I took a class called "Psychology of Gender Differences", even the professor was SMOKING hot. Just argued about differences between men and women the entire time. It was 90% chicks, most of them from the good sororities...they all love Psychology for some reason and when they're in the upper division classes, all the general student riff raff are filtered out.

Nothing like trying to target women who are going to mess with your heads on every decision you make and every off-handed remark you make. Good way to have yourself in the corner curled into the fetal position two months into a relationship.

College. There are no relationships. The assisgnments were pretty rediculous, basically all opinion based analysis, I threw shit together and got pretty high scores. maybe I just understand women?

If I were in college again, I would work in retail part time if possible or any kind of sales experience. Being able to say you have 2-3 years of sales experience when you're applying for jobs out of college is as valuable as networking and connections and grades. It was probably more valuable than me being a TA for some classes actually. I guess if you want to get into sales, but you can say a lot of things and BS your way.

Government jobs are the way to go. Doesn't matter which field. Look up government jobs and start going towards one. They have the best benefits, they pay well, and you just sit around all day and talk on Facebook or sports forums

Marketing involves tons of writing if you ever plan on moving beyond the entry level positions. And those entry level positions probably require a fair ammount as well.

It's not just delivering the mail. That's a common misconception. It is a strenuous job which requires considerable physical fitness, because he's also got to service HCP's wife, and many other lonely housewives.

You'd have to do some research. I'd say try to get an internship and just look around at what people do. I find that most of them just sit on their ass and do nothing. I personally have trouble doing this work because I get bored, I open up my mouth and make waves, leading to my dismissal from government work. They don't like people rocking the boat and they don't like change. They just want to show up, collect their paycheck/benefits, and go home. If that's the kind of work you want, I suggest government. Me? I plan on running for mayor and firing all the unnecessary blood suckers who like to leach off our society while contributing very little to the collective good.

One of my best friends is a psychiatrist for the VA. He just came out of working for a private hospital, and he says there's about half the patient load per doctor. He says that the bureaucracy is annoying (EVERYTHING comes out of a manual, even for MD's like him). But he also says he feels like there's a lot more time to devote to patients, and that the shrinks and nurses he works with are mostly really cool and reasonably motivated. (Just not insane workaholics like at his old job.) He also got a 30% pay cut, but given that he doesn't have to be on call 1/4 as much and it's drastically less stressful, it's overall worth it to him.

I don't think my friend is a stereotypical government drone. I suspect a lot of that depends on which department you work for, etc. If you take an IRS job looking for thrills and providing excellent customer service, I've got bad news for you. If you join the Coast Guard or work at a national park, well, it might be pretty interesting work.

depends. I don't do it, but one of my friends does and it kind of takes a lot of time I guess. I think he can do 2-3 per hour, so 60 bucks an hour if your diversified isn't too shabby.

If you're specialized, its actually fun...kind of like posting on a board like this but getting paid but having to proofread.
