Terry Stotts appreciation thread

This is the tagline I have at the bottom of every one of my posts. It encapsulates why we beat the Sixers in 77 and why we lost to the Nuggets in 2021.
and it's a sentiment that stotts completely abandoned the past few years with his system

So much more to being a coach than most on here seem to grasp. Terry Stotts actually took his players to every arena and pointed out players who's jerseys were in the rafters and explained who they were and what they did for the game.

There is some dude saying he was the "Darkest Moment" of the franchises history that obviously doesn't know much about the franchises history.

Great guy. Did lots of things great as a coach, too. A total professional - he never berated his players to the media, and always had their backs.

He'd be a Blazer coach for much longer if he just could have gotten his players to player defense anywhere near their capabilities.

p.s. Will never forget the Jack Ramsey Suit he wore as a tribute.

I think it was symptomatic of Stotts losing the team. His offense, like Rick Carlisle's, emphasized ball movement and making the extra pass. The incessant iso's at the end of games to me were the players trying to be the hero themselves because they didn't trust their teammates.

Hmmm before we got Dame we had much bad luck with star injuries. But once you got Dame .....Its like you bought lambo or Ferrari but your using the wrong gas on the car and ruining the performance and slowly destroying the car .

We get your opinion, and I don't totally disagree with it...

But, why do you have to say it over and over again. Again, we get how you feel about Coach Stotts.

yet we were consistently worst in the league in passes and assists. the guy believed in one thing, but then coached the exact opposite. this narrative that he emphasized ball movement is flat out false.

Cause you have weak cats on here thanking him for the service....the man made of 30$ million and wasted 5 years of Lillard prime. Awwww yea lets thank the man for everything he done for this franchise....disgraceful. Im done here just hope we try to eliminate stotts from vocabulary in near future

Hmmm. Try to understand here. This thread is about the positive things the man did for a very long time not only around the team but around this city.
I'll give you an example. My nephew also plays in the 3 on 3 tourney that S2 usually has a team in. Stotts always would show up and talk to the kids. He took time out of his life on the off season and sat with my nephew to help him improve his shot.
By the time this thread has run it's course I'm betting there will be many other stories like that.

You don't like Terry Stotts then go to the hate Terry Threads and post there.

What an awesome experience for your nephew and the rest of the kids. Class act for sure!

I’mma create a burner account and bump this and thank Stotts once a week at minimum.
Don't worry. you don't have to create a burner. I can do it for you. Every time i go to the crypto thread I'll bump this just to piss off the "Servant" dude.

You never invited me! You f'ing Timber Ticket Tease!
In fairness I did that one Blazers game with you years ago. I even had to meet a Wookee before tip. I still struggle sleeping at night!

Thanks for not challenging that flop by jokic on the 3 point shot that completely changed game 6 to just use it 5 min later on a meaningless out of bounds play. Winning basketball all the way.

Oh and thanks for never playing any of the rooks or guys on the bench that could of helped. An amazing basketball mind for sure.

Good luck.

Stotts got really unlucky.

He had the blazers playing at a championship level 3 years ago. We just got unlucky with injury after injury.

We finally got a near-full roster for the playoffs this year, but CJ and Nurk were out for so long they were rusty and didn’t have chemistry.

Same kinda thing happened during the COVID bubble year... we were having a good year and all of a sudden Nurk injury and COVID randomly hits.

The one that his assitant told him was probably a foul and Nurk told him "I barely touched him."?

Oh the irony. This is coming from the same guy that frequented the Fire Stotts Now thread and criticized people for expressing their displeasure for Stotts. You frequented the thread so much that you became the official page counter for the thread. #PracticeWhatYouPreach

Just because you haven’t posted in that thread in while doesn’t change the fact that you did the exact same thing you are telling this guy not to do. Oblivious much?
