Terry Stotts is the Norv Turner of the NBA

Boob how many games could you win with Bargnani, Felton and Metta World Peace.

Yeah, like I said a roster full over overpaid malcontents that I want no part of. And you can't blame it all on Ron-Ron and the Fat Man. Ron-Ron doesn't start and Fatty McTurnover has missed 10 games and they actually play BETTER with him in the line-up (go figure).

Well, the only reason Bargnani was starting was because Chandler was injured. But they don't win much more with Chandler in the line-up. I think Bargnani sucks, I always have. But swapping him with Chandler hasn't had much impact on the Knicks success - which makes me wonder how much Chandler has left and if he's worth $14+ million to be our back-up center.

Shumpert is a worse shooter than Ricky Rubio. I know he's a good defender, but he'd be a horrible fit in Stotts system. We'd be playing 4-5 on offense and that would let other teams double team Aldridge EVERY time he touches the ball.

I really don't see how adding 2 starters from an 8-18 team, especially given Chandler's contract and injury concerns is a good idea. Like I said, I'd love to have Chandler as our back-up center - on a much more reasonable contract, but that's not a possibility.

Trolls.

I had to make some popped corn before reading this thread.

Most enjoyable for me is the enraged and baseless opinions of those labeling other people clueless, who have no idea what they are talking about themselves. It's not the first time I've written this, but it bears repeating: I have no problem with people expressing their opinions, but is it really too much to ask that they know what they are talking about before they start shouting? When will the "never satisfied" fan who feels the need to post about it constantly [troll] realize the irony in crying about being labeled a troll, as they call everyone who doesn't agree with them clueless? Why don't trolls ever answer questions or support their argument with reason and facts?

And while I can appreciate BNM's attempts in vain to interject with the reality of the CBA, one has to ask - does anyone really believe that those that start these threads can understand, or even care to accept why their opinion is based on fantasy? And if not, what's the point in explaining it to them?

Never mind, back to my popped corn.

I dont remember Norv Turner winning coach of the trimester. SlyPokerDog is an idiot. IMHO

Nope but he certainly did win a USA News Coach of the Year for 2009/10
He also has 2 Super Bowl Rings as a coordinator

So the comparison is fairly appropriate.

Pretty sure the thread wasnt started in an effort to give Terry Stotts praise for his coaching abilities.

exactly. And they're on their 3rd string pg now and are running backup sg out there to play point. That team wouldn't even be winning with LBJ out there

I agree. Turner was a good coach, San Diego did better with him than they ever did once he left. D'antoni would be another good example, though I like Stott's system much more than D'antonis

An assistant coach who has a clue about defense, a big wing guard, and another solid big. These pieces can be had. I would look straight at the NY KNICKS!! I think they can give you two out of those 3 pieces. I would trade for Iman Shumpert and Tyson Chandler RIGHT NOW! If the Blazers got those two we would be title contenders and it would do wonders for our defense. Shumpert is strugling this year on offense but it's because Woodson is an idiot and not using him right, his defense is still great though. Tyson Chandler is currently hurt but nothing serious. He would give this team a much needed attitude and we all saw what he did for the Mavs, he's still only 31 and could do the same for the Blazers! PERFECT FIT.

I really like Shumpert, he would give us a lot of versatility both defensively and offensively. Especially if we could bring him off the bench as our 6th man. I would be fine with CJ for Shump straight up. Shump has the potential to be the next Tony Allen

You buy low on guys, not high. This is the worst stretch he's had in his short career. He has a so so coach, terrible point guards and the team is struggling. I think he would be one of those guys where a change of scenery would help a lot.

Agreed Shumpert still has not hit his ceiling Williams hit his a while ago and is descending.

His CAREER shooting % is shit.

And buying by trading CJ isn't low. Trading Claver a draft pick is buying low.

You think Mo would be enough to send back? I would think New York would want a young guy back like McCollum back seeing as how Shumpert is their only young asset besides Tim Hardaway Jr.

If they want a young guy then I have no real issue giving them Barton, Crabbe, Claver or Leonard.

you aren't getting him for his offense. he is average at best on that end though he does have some nice traditional PG skills in a SG body. His impact defensively could be a big boost for this team. We are already one of the best offensive teams in the league, if we could add someone like shumpert who could really help our backcourt defense then we'd be in really good shape come playoff time.

even with it being a down year no one is taking those guys for a player of Shumperts caliber. Barton Crabbe and Claver are deep bench guys who won't excite anyone. They would be included only if we needed to make salaries match. Leonard has some promise but that is still quite a stretch

I do not disagree with this. However, considering the position Portland is in they can afford to be stingy the Knicks cannot.

his defensive ratings don't exactly scream "hot damn" either.
